First, I'd have to say, if your friend is having a reaction to citrus and detergents, to stop using them. I too am sensitive to many detergents, so I have to be very careful. Also, if I just wash my hands too much, just plain water will break my hands out terribly. Usually, when my hands are like that, I try to just keep them well moisturized. No EO's....just carrier oils or unscented lotions. I really like shea butter, cocoa butter and coconut oil. I put one part of each and melt together. If you think it's too 'hard' in it's consistency, you can add a liquid oil to the mix as well. 1/2 to 1 part or more, until you get it to the consistency you like. Grapeseed oil, or Almond oil come to mind. I'm sure some other folks will chime in when they can....perhaps there is an EO that will help, that I don't know about. I do know that the herb Plantain can help with some types of skin problems. Not sure if it would for contact dermatitis though, as I haven't thought to try it. I do use an infusion of it, in Olive Oil for my eczema, and it seems to help quite a bit. Doesn't get rid of it, but any help is great. Guest guest
I would steer clear of essential oils altogether until it clears up and just use a plain cream or perhaps some shea butter to keep his hands moisturised. Ann - Scotland Hi - I have a friend who is suffering from contact dermatitis on his hands, which is triggered by citrus and detergents, and I'm wondering if anyone has any suggestions on which EO's to use. I'm new to this group (i'm not exactly sure I know how to use it but we'll see if I do ok) so hello everyone, and thanks in advance for your thoughts. Guest guest
Hi.. Looking for a natural remedy for contact dermatitis. I have been to a doctor and a dermatologist with no help at all. Only thing that relieved the condition is using topically Sovereign Colloidal Silver. I also have allergies to food, environment, etc. Thank you Diane
