Guest guest
Doc, Can the Master Cleanse detox (water, lemon, cayenne, maple syrup - all organic) adversely affect one's metabolism? I always lose a lot of weight during the cleanse and it comes right back as fat! Someone told me I shouldn't exercise more than walking while on the detox and that could be the problem. Can you explain this to me? BTW, I've been gearing up to do the total body cleanse for months and finally have two months when I won't be breaking the fast at some tradeshow. Thanks, Karen herbal remedies , " Dr. Ian Shillington " <DocShillington@K...> wrote: > > The best for such a short period of time would be a fast and these can be in order of severity. > > a.. Doc,Can the Master Cleanse detox (water, lemon, cayenne, maple syrup - all organic) adversely affect one's metabolism? I wouldn't think so. I see no reason why it should. Too much Maple Syrup would cause other problems and a large amount wouldn't be advisable for a Diabetic. I am not an expert of this particular cleanse, but if all it has in it is what you named, I think you'd do well with it. I always lose a lot of weight during the cleanse and it comes right back as fat! Someone told me I shouldn't exercise more than walking while on the detox and that could be the problem. You aren't the first person to tell me about regaining weight after such a diet or even similar diets. I've also heard that exercise is not necessary to certain diets, but this doesn't make total sense to me, but then again I feel many diets are destructive anyway. In order to get nutrition where it's supposed to be, you need to exercise and get the flows opened up. Starving oneself to lose weight is not smart. I think everyone should start off small but eventually work themselves up to 45 minutes a day of strenuous exercise. I'm a firm believer in gradients so if all one can do is 3 minutes when they first start then that's fine. The point is to START!!! ;-) As mentioned in an earlier post, a person's body may not give off weight if the body thinks it's going to starve. It'll just shut down and not give up a thing. Then there are those who will drop it like a stone and then gain it back immediately. This is because they are on the wrong diet. They are not getting enough "live" foods, and enough enzymes. They are eating foods that have enzyme inhibitors in them. Their acid / alkaline ratio is outa whack. All these factors have to be taken into consideration. But exercise is key to any health building or weight loss program. Hope this helps. In Health and Love, Doc Can you explain this to me? Guest guest
In regards to the exercise, I was continuing my normal regime - aerobic and weights. So, the person who told me not to exercise said that there wasn't enough nutrition in the Master Cleanse to rebuild muscle that is town down with strength training. That walking was perfectly fine. So can I surmise that the Master Cleanse diet is really not the right short-term " cleansing " diet for me? I wasn't doing it lose weight, but to cleanse ... however, that doesn't mean I want to increase my fat ratio in the process. > I always lose a lot of weight during the cleanse and it comes right > back as fat!
