Guest guest
Kristin, It's amazing, almost the same thing happened with me. My husband and I adopted a beagle from the Humane Society and when we got him home I started having allergy problems (I always knew I was allergic to cats, not dogs). I did some internet research at that time and found a couple of different things that you can do that are natural. One thing was to just help ramp up the immune system with extra doses of Vitamin C and also Echinacea. The other thing I found for allergies was Nettle Leafs or Stinging Nettle. I found it in caplets and have been taking it in caplets. The other thing I've done to help keep my sinuses clear was to flush them out with a salt-water mixture. Some people call it a Neti-pot. I bought a plastic one called Sinu-Cleanse. It's an odd feeling at first to pour the salt-water solution up your nose, but you get used to it after a while and it works wonders to keep them clear! You might also try putting more moisture into the air in your home with a humidifier or any other desired method. Not only is moisture good for the sinuses, but it also keeps the pet dander that floats around out of the air and on the ground. Also, we are in the process of taking out our carpet too as pet dander festers in there (not to mention all the chemicals and toxins in carpets). That's what has worked for me. I hope it helps! Guest guest
There are dander type shampoos that often help people with allergies to pets. I would try that first. We too have a pug and they are wonderful! They just melt your heart and you can't help but love them! Guest guest
How long ago did you get the Pug and have you washed it yet? If it was in a shelter, it might have cat dander on it. Guest guest
I used MSM, as it is for allergies amoung other things. I started with 1000mg three times a day for 7 days then increasing the amount to 2 tablets three times a day for seven days, then three tablets three times a day for 6 months till the allergies went away. The allergies/reaction are gone. Before that I used liquid yucca spray on the animals food. Two sprays on top of food each feeding. Well worth every cent. It worked wonderfully and after the very first day. It also stops bad breath and the urine turning the grass yellow and a few other wonderful things. I still use the yucca. I still use MSM, for all pain or avoiding whatever virus is floating around. I definately use the yucca on my ferret and rabbits to help nuteralize their urine smell and musky odor. Works like nothing else. Raw apple cider vinegar in the water will help loads too, yours and the dogs. Just a few drops in puppies, and 2 teaspoons in yours. Another breath freshener. I am with you both I LOVE pugs too, sweet, sweet dogs, aww but I love all animals. fft herbal remedies , " Kimi " <kwolffden@w...> wrote: > > There are dander type shampoos that often help people with allergies to pets.
