Doc,

I was thinking about some of the info in your files, about the body

needing oxygen to heal, and that if parts aren't getting enough

oxygen to put cayenne pepper there (like on a wound that won't heal,

etc.)

Well, Doc, I was wondering, do you think that the skin gets wrinkles

and fine lines not only because of a lack of hydration, but also a

lack of oxygenation in the skin?

I'm trying a little experiment. I've mixed a bit of cayenne into

some petrolium jelly and I'm applying it to my face to see if it

makes a difference. Note: I recently had a few spots removed from

my face w/liquid hydrogen and there was one that got a bit funky.

It seemed to be healing slowly, so I put some of the cayenne and

vasaline on it to get rid of the puss and speed the healing. It

worked like a champ. Was healed in three days. It warmed up but

didn't really " burn " .

As I've put it all over my face so far, it doesn't burn, but it

really heats up. Kind of refreshing, really.

WHAT DO YOU THINK?

Debra

I know this was for the Dr but just a side note... Petrolium Jelly clogs the pores i wouldn't put it on my face everday it doesn't allow the skin to breath... Just a thought! I've seen petroleum jelly recommended for

many different things, but I just can't bring myself to use a petroleum

product on my skin! I don't have any hard reasons for it, it just

doesn't seem *right*. Am I being silly? (always a possibility!lol)

Debra, I know your question was posed to Doc and I am looking forward to his reply. I also wanted to add one idea that was explain to me recently on the subject of fine lines and wrinkles: What is the biggest difference between grapes and prunes? Moisture. One of the best ways we can naturally fight wrinkles is to moisturize our faces. One would be from the inside out - making sure we are drinking lots of water. The other way would be to put something on the face that is moisturizing. I don't know of any natural moisturizers. Hopefully someone here can suggest something. My father actually puts olive oil on his face which he thinks helps with wrinkles. Just some thoughts. One more thing (sorry) - I meant to say "Grape vs. Raisin" - not prune. :) Paulachickfarmer1 <gdwmn65 wrote: Doc,I was thinking about some of the info in your files, about the body needing oxygen to heal, and that if parts aren't getting enough oxygen to put cayenne pepper there (like on a wound that won't heal, etc.)Well, Doc, I was wondering, do you think that the skin gets wrinkles and fine lines not only because of a lack of hydration, but also a lack of oxygenation in the skin?I'm trying a little experiment. I'm going to try mixing the cayenne with caster oil. I had the petroleum jelly out because I wanted it to stay right on that one spot.

But I've been thinking about it and I do use castor oil quite a bit, so I think I'll try some cayenne in the castor oil.

I'd still like to hear from Doc S. about what he thinks about skin circulation.

No, you aren't silly..using a petroleum product on your face or any part of your body only seals it and never allows it to breath. use grapeseed oil. olive oil or whatever you have on hand. It's not necessary to buy expensive creams.

I heard once that Sophia Lorenz only used olive oil on her face for a moisturizer and she had Beautiful skin.

I agree with you here, just does not seem right. I have used coconut oil for a while and really like how it feels and works.

Debra,

I would suggest virgin coconut oil or even olive oil. I use both (not at the same time) on my skin. In fact, I don't use anything other than coconut oil or olive oil. I also agree with the suggestion of drinking lots of water to prevent wrinkles.

Petroleum jelly (Vaseline) does not belong in or on the human body,

it is inorganic.

wow I had no idea petroleum jelly was bad for us. I have used it for 15 years since i was 13, i always had very dry skin and i found it was the only thing that helped me, I wonder if that has affected my health since i use it daily.

Petroleum jelly is a by product of PETROLEUM and is bad for the skin. It not only traps toxins in the skin, it has its own toxins that are a by product of its production. I would never use a petroleum product on my face/body (mineral oil is also a petroleum product). Olive oil is the best natural oil for the skin because its PH and the size of the fat molacules are the closest to human's natural oils (therefore it penatrates the skin better). Everyone,

The issue is NOT the petroleum jelly - remember, that was just so the cayenne would stay in that one spot. I'm using the castor oil now for my experiment.

The issue is CAYENNE increasing circulation to the skin. Does it bring more fluid via circulation to the skin of the face, thereby preventing or reducing fine lines and wrinkles?

I do know that people have used olive oil for centuries on their skin, but I chose caster oil as I'm familiar with its healing properties on lumps and bumps and injuries.

Please let me know what you think.

Dear Deb,

Cayenne will dilate the blood vessels so that a larger quantity of blood can move faster throughout the body, which of course get's not only other nutrients where they need to go, but also includes more oxygen. It also facilitates a quicker removal of wastes.

Lack of oxygenation can create wrinkles and debility in other organs as well as the skin. ;-)

However, NEVER use petroleum jelly for anything having to do with the body. This stuff is toxic. Doc Christopher and Doc Schulze used it in the Cold Sheet Treatment to cover the genitals so the intense herbal preparation in the hot bath wouldn't make it completely unbearable, and petroleum jelly will work for this, but other options are available. A good bees wax / olive oil combination will work just as well. I've done many a Cold Sheet Treatment on many patients and I no longer do them nor recommend them under any circumstances. They are just tooooo mentally traumatic. The same effect can be achieved using a hot bath or preferably a sauna in conjunction with hot herbal diaphoretic (makes you sweat) teas. There is no need to put a person through the trauma of feeling they are being skinned alive, or burned at the stake which is the sensation experienced from this procedure.

I applaud your grabbing the reins and just getting in there with an herbal preparation though. Shows you have the courage to confront your situation, and I'm sure you didn't do any permanent damage using the vaseline. It's just a bad habit to get into and over time you'd do yourself damage using it.

I mix Cayenne with many other herbs as it will make those herbs work better and faster. It's a great addition to just about any formula. You won't get a true "burn" with Cayenne, though it can make you awful uncomfortable, especially if used in certain tender areas. ;-)

What I think is that we're gonna turn you into a wild herbalist yet. ROTFLOL

Doc,

Thank you for your reply. Just to update you - After the petroleum jelly (was about a table spoon total), I tried mixing the cayenne w/castor oil, but it won't stay mixed, the cayenne continually sinks, and when applied to the face I just didn't get a good result - my skin just was too slippery and I never really 'felt' the cayenne.

So now I'm using my regular moisturizer and have added some cayenne to that. That combo is working pretty well so far. I even got a compliment about my face.

WHAT is/was the 'Cold Sheet Treatment'? I've read it mentioned one time, but don't know what it was or what it was used for.

PS - I'd love to be an herbalist! Have been using herbs for about 13 years. By the Way - I have a source for black walnuts and am looking for instructions on how/when to harvest and how to process the rinds. If you know the method or where I could find it, I'd be grateful. I've searched the internet, but can't find the info.

Debra
