Guest guest
I am wondering what I can use to help reduce pain? I have fibromyalgia and am in lots of deep pain. The doctor has given me ocycodine (sp?) and that helps a bit but I do not want to have to use narcotics to get relief. I have change my diet and eat mostly organic foods and nearly all our meats are pasture raised grass fed. I eat very little sweets and a lower carb diet. I do have to eat two or so carb each meal as I am diabetic and will drop too low with out enough carbs. I also drink real milk from organic grass fed cows and make kefir to drink daily. I also get regular exercise, and try to get plenty of rest but that is hard due to pain. I also have hives all over my belly. I get them every so often and know they are hives for sure as I had a biopsy done on them a while back. They are itching like crazy. Any suggestions would be most welcomed. Last thing, I am wondering what herbs every one should have growing in the home garden? Guest guest
I actually have quite a few clients with fibromyalgia and pain is a big issue. I tell my clients to use skullcap, california poppy and poppy seed tincture for the pain and to help with the disease itself to take burdock root, nettles, and solomon's seal in a tea or tincture form to help the muscles and joints work better (so there will be less pain); keep up the exercise, its vital! As for the hives, they are usually an allergic reaction. Have you had allergy testing lately? Have you noticed that they appear after eating certain foods or food groups (potatos and tomatos are in the same food family and can cause allergic reactions)? Guest guest
Thanks much Dawn! I am going to try those ASAP. I just hate needing so much pain meds, but I an fed up with the pain. I would rather take herbal any old day! One question though, where can one find out if there is any problems with taking an herbal item and a pharmaceutical med. I have some heart meds and thyroid meds I must take and want to make sure there are no interactions with them. Is there a web site for this? I know the health~food store I go to some times has a computer program that does this but I do not want to have to drive 45 minutes away just to find out. Guess I am just too lazy for that! LOL. I read this book..... Freedom From Fibromyalgia The 5-week Program proven To Conquer Pain. Author is Nancy Selfridge. This book explains how we activate our own pain (emotions) and once you understand this you'll be on your way to controlling your pain. I was off the meds in two weeks...and yes I was scared to come off them! Funny thing is the meds never really took the pain away completely. I still have the odd flare but now I know how to control it. I also had allergies...hives,eczema ect I learned to make my own herbal cream. Guest guest
Dear Kimi, You have several issues going on and a complete holistic program is in order here. For most I recommend doing the Total Body Cleanse Program, or the Lifetime Health Program, but in your case I'd recommend the Full Incurables Program due to the plethora of difficulties you have. In addition, as far as your specialized program is concerned, I'd add Niacin Therapy, DMSO, Inversion Therapy, Oxygenation Therapy and Dianetics. There are obviously some mental stress issues happening in your life and these should be addressed as well. The best Self Help book on the market for handling mental stress is "Dianetics, The Modern Science of Mental Health", by L. Ron Hubbard. This is a tech that can be used by anyone on another. If you can't find some friend or a significant other to help you with applying this piece of tech, then my second suggestion in this area would be the book, "Self Analysis" by L. Ron Hubbard. These are self help processes you can do on yourself to relieve mental stress that are second to none. Hope this helps. Guest guest
Doc said: There are obviously some mental stress issues happening in your life and these should be addressed as well. Doc, you are correct about this, I just did not think of how it could be affecting my health. Thankfully things are calming down and I am learning to take better care of my mental health too. It has been a tormental three years for me since my DX and surgery for the thyroid cancer. Plus raising teens during this time does not help! LOL. Thankfully I have a wonderful husband who is very caring and loving to me and I feel so blessed and thankful to be with a man like him. So that department is going well! ;-) I am going to check into the books you have recemended to continue on my mental health. I have really come to realize how importan a healthy family and love life are. This is a tech that can be used by anyone on another. My DH will be helpful in this, so I think I will check into this book first maybe. I am looking for and hope to get a juicer soon. Money is really tight right now so it may be a month or two before I can get it. I know to do the cleansing and the rest of the treatments, the juicer is quite vital. I am going to post on our local freecycle site to see if anyone has one sitting around they no longer want. I would suggest for any one looking for something like this to check into the Freecycle site and find the local one for your area. It is amazing what people will give away to others because they no longer need or want it. I got a very high quality sewing machine from here, free. That is the thing here, it must be free. The person receiving it does pick it up so no cost involved. I am also learning how to sprout things to use for juicing as I believe the live content is so important too. Thanks Doc so much for all your wonderful help. I have come a long ways but still have a good portion of the road left ahead of me. But at least I know I am going in the right direction! I do have one questions though, with the juice fast, how will it affect my blood sugar levels? I tend to have either highs (over 200) or lows (under 70). Guest guest
Heather, Thanks for the book suggestion, I'm going to look for it this coming week. Between the book you suggested and the ones Doc recommended for me I am going to be quite busy!
