Guest guest
Can anyone share some recommednations on herbs that can help with acid reflux disease please? I have a coworker that is battling with that to the point where the acid is eating away at his esophagus and unfortunately all of the " Wonder Drugs " the doctors have put him on are not working. I appreciate any information you can share with me. Thank you, Paula
Guest guest
I would start him on slippery elm. I'd make a tea out of the cut and sifted using approx. 1 tsp pe 2 cups of water, make a cold infusion (take cold water over the slippery elm, let sit for a few hours, then you can heat it , but DO NOT boil, it will kill the mucilage which is what helps heal. Add some raw honey to it. I would also have him get powdered slippery elm and have him take 1 tsp 3X per day mixed in a small amount of organic whole milk yogurt, he can add a little cinnamon to it. He can also add the slippery elm in to some oatmeal if he doesn't want the yogurt. It helps with the acid and healing the mucous membranes. Red clover tea ( long infusion 4-8 hours using 1 cup of red clover to 1 quart of water) will also be very helpful. Bonnie
Guest guest
I have found that calendula is the best thing for any stomach problems. I make a tea but also carry capsules in my purse. Guest guest
My husband has suffered from this for years and the dr wanted to eventually do surgery. He finally went to a nutritionist and stopped all caffeine, alcohol and did a major diet adjustment with his guidance. He no longer takes anything for his GERD. He had to do a drastic change in diet for a few months then he was able to add back some of the things he had to cut out. He now only has a problem if he has too much coffee or we go to a party with all that bad food and drink. Guest guest
I have heard the chios mastic gum is a good remedy for GERD. I have no personal experience with it. Jackie
Guest guest
My favorite combination is burdock and marshmallow root, and nettles. Drin it as a tea three times a day or make a tincture to take the same way. Have him take the tea before meals.
