Terri,

From what I understand, sugar is as addictive to the system as cocaine. That's why it's so hard give up. The more you have the more you want. Even if you decide you don't want it, your body still craves it, really causing a struggle to get off of it.

I have a personal theory. I repeat - this is a PERSONAL THEORY - sorry, just a

disclaimer.

I believe that our bodies have a great capacity for self-regulation when it

comes to food. I believe that much of what people in the USA put into their

bodies, thinking it is food, has been so highly processed that our bodies no

longer recognize it as food. Sugar, the highly processed white sugar that's in

everything, is a good example. I believe that our bodies react to it more like

it reacts to a drug rather than a food.

Here's an example. The average can of pop has 13-16 teaspoons of sugar in it.

Can anyone imagine mixing 13-16 teaspoons of honey in water and drinking it???

Of course not. It would make us sick. Our bodies recognize honey as a food and

regulates how much of it we desire. Most people do not have a problem

overeating honey. But sugar, that's a completely different story. I know

people that drink 6-12 cans of pop every day! That's a LOT of sugar. On top of

the pop, virtually everything they eat and drink has sugar added. And they

crave more and more and more.

The solution is so very simple. Stop feeding the body things that are processed

and start feeding it real, whole food. Within a few days the cravings

disappear. Feed your body real whole food long enough and you will not only

stop craving, you will begin to look at it and think, how can anyone eat that?

It changes everything.

I agree with the article on sugar. I have read similiar articles on the subject . Sugar isnt't the only thing doing this to people. Corn, wheat, milk , potatoes, and other foods have the same effect on some people. I have food allergies and some of these foods make me feel like I'm high on drugs. The day after is worse than any hangover.maddress wrote: I have a personal theory. This is so true! I know I use to crave sweet things so bad I would literally get shaky till I got white sugar some how. The longer I eat a more NT diet the less I get those strong cravings. I also do not get the monthly chocolate cravings either.
