I have a simple remedy, maybe it is not considered herbal, but it works. To get rid of razor burn all you need is 2 strawberries and a tea spoon of sour cream, just double ingredients for legs. Mash the strawberries and mix with the sour cream , apply it to the effected area, leave on for 10 minutes then rinse. You can also use this as a facial mask to refresh and calm the skin. Whenever I hear the word "burn", I immediately think of Aloe Vera Nothing beats it for razor or any other kind of burn. Use it fresh from the plant. Guest guest Posted December 22, 2005 Report Share Posted December 22, 2005 A long time ago I found out that when shaving with a razor it actually lops off pieces of skin which cause the razor burn. Equate the skin to an orange peel and you will see the reason for razor burn. I was in the Navy and a Norelco rotary electric razor was cheap in ships store. I have not used a blade razor since. I just bought a new razor and bought the Norelco from Wal-Mart for $47. It was absolutely the best I have had. The old triple screen I was using actually gave me razor burn if I did not change the blades and screens every three months.. The factors causing razor burn has been reduced in the rotary blade system. Remember that any kind of razor can and will give razor burn if used improperly. Slow smooth strokes without too much pressure on the face is best. Let the machine do the work. Every face is different and the time to adjust to a new razor can be as long as a month. If I forget to shave for a couple of days I do add a pre-electric shave astringent lotion.
