Guest guest
I have had some pretty severe pain the last couple of days from an old molar which was capped about 10 years ago. I am guessing of course that the cap leaked or somehow food found its way underneath, and that there's damage to the remaining tooth. I plan on being a walk-in tomorrow at the dental clinic....but am guessing I have two options: root canal or extraction. How in the world can I get around having a root canal in a situation like this? And if I opt for the extraction, which I probably will, can you recommend herbs both for healing and for pain? Thanks Jeanne

Guest guest
One of my best formulas for dental problems in general is a tincture with equal parts of White oak bark (Astringant, good to tone gums and it also helps rebuild the bone in teeth), Myrhh (Antiinfective), and Plantain (helps draw out any toxins, decay and is awesome for getting rid of an absess). I have people combine the three and take 1 oz. of water and add 2 dropperfuls to it. Next, take the water and tincture mixture and swish it in the mouth for at least 1-2 minutes and do not eat or drink for at least 1/2 hour afterwards. I cannot tell you how many people this has helped with all kinds of dental problems. I call it "Magic Mouthwash". Dawn Herbalist, Aromatherapist.
