Guest guest
Hi all, I know it's been a while, but here we are on break from school again and I can finally check in here! OK, here's my problem: I THINK I might have scabies. When I Googled it, every website I looked at listed symptoms of intense itching, especially at night, and raised red bumps that often look like pimples, or hives. The sites also say that it occurs anywhere on the body, but most commonly between the fingers and in the folds of the wrists and the flexing side of the forearms, inside elbows and under arms and on genitals and stuff. It's often mistaken for eczema. Well, the problem is, I've had an eczema-like rash for what will be 2 years in Feb. It started on the flexor side of my right wrist (in the little folds), and it spread to my ring finger and pinky, and then went to my left wrist. Then I developed scalp dermatitis that covered my whole scalp and caused major dandruff. From there, it went up my forearms, first my right and then my left. Then it started to form on the ulnar half of the back of my right hand, and then the same on my left. It went to the left side of my face, and the right side of my anterior neck. It didn't stop there. It is now on the extensor side of both wrists and on the insides of both elbows. And it does indeed get EXTREMELY itchy at night, and when I wake up early in the morning. Mine sounds almost amazingly like scabies. Even the pictures look almost identical! Thing is, they also look VERY similar to eczema. Also, they said scabies rarely goes above the neck and my rash did. I've tried eliminating EVERY usual suspect from my diet as far as food allergies go. I've already switched out detergents, hair products, cleaning products, etc. I wear no makeup. I use no perfume. I'm a massage therapist and I've switched to ONLY pure oils (currently jojoba or grapeseed). I have no known food allergies. I have been under a considerable amount of stress for the past 2 years, and I developed this about 6 wks into this intense stress (along with an INSANELY full schedule.) I know that cortisol levels (stress hormones) create by-products that irritate the nerves, and this can result in a condition similar to what I have. I've treated the rash with the Tennant Biomodulator (a nice little Godsend!) and I've had plenty of success. But the rash has never completely gone away, and recently (last week) I flared up BAD! It has been extremely itchy and the only thing that calms it is an ice pack, and only if it is in direct contact with the skin. Any natural help out there for me? Does anyone have any suggestions, about diagosis, treatment, or anything else? I'm sort of in an emergency, ks I never realized that scabies is a possibility, and I'm a massage therapist (so I might've gotten it in massage school, if I indeed have scabies), and since scabies is highly contagious, I'm rather worried, ks I'll have to stop massaging or put my clients at risk and I WON'T do the latter! Thanks in advance!! Gotta run! Hugs, --JL
Guest guest
Hello and sorry to hear or your problem. Very tricky to get rid of. Go to www.vermontcountrystore.com and then search for: " Pine Tar Soap; Pine Tar Shampoo or Pine Tar Cremes. " The key is when you use the Soaps to leave the soap on the skin for a few minutes and then rinse it off. After that apply " any oil " . It is is Scabies they will disappear but will take using the Soaps.-- - In herbal remedies , " supervixen08 " <supervixen08> wrote: > > Hi all, > > I know it's been a while, but here we are on break from school again > and I can finally check in here! > > OK, here's my problem: I THINK I might have scabies.
