I hate to keep saying the same thing, but I truly believe that the best thing

she can do is to completely stop eating any and all processed foods. Eat ONLY

whole, unprocessed, organic foods (that means no pop, no McDonalds, nothing out

of a box, etc.) Just doing that will stabilize her blood sugar.

You may also be surprised at how many other symptoms improve with this change.

Once she has stabilized on whole, unprocessed, organic foods, she might consider

the juice cleanse. The type of juice determines the impact on blood sugar as

well.

I think getting her body cleaned up will help the symptoms of hernia.

As far as the diagnosis itself, I'm NOT a doctor, I'm NOT a health professional,

I'm not anything official - this is just my opinon. I believe that hiatal

hernia is one of those conditions that gets GROSSLY overdiagnosed. When a

doctor can figure out no other solution, they diagnose hiatal hernia. Their

solutions are drugs and surgery. They rarely address overall diet (at best they

say avoid this and this).

Our bodies are designed to be healthy. We've trashed them with an onslaught of

non-food and environmental chemicals. - and then we wondery why they don't work

right - let's go in a FIX IT!

I'm sorry, this is a little rant I go on now and again, probably far more than

you wanted to read. My personal opinion is that COMPLETELY changing her diet to

real, whole, unprocessed food will help her symptoms.

Hi All,

I'm Sherry aka s.a.m a newbie to the list.

I just had hernia surgery 11/24. About 8

years ago I went in for a pain in my left

side and a very distinct lump. The doctor

said he thought it was just a fatty tumor

and to leave it alone unless it began to

grow or hurt bad. Well it did so in I went

and once he got in there it was a large

hernia. Well he sewed the patch on the

muscle wall so the intestine couldn't

push through. I'm still sore but glad it's

over.

I've had a lot of intestinal problems over

the years since I was a kid. I was always

very constipated and when I was about 20 all of a sudden found I no longer had

the urge to have a bowl movement. Laxatives were to no avail so I had to

resort to enemas. I'd been to many many

doctors including natural ones. I always

as a kid ate tons of raw veggies and apples, plums, pears which didn't help

either.

In 1990 I finally found a doctor an

internist who stumbled across a "white

paper" on my problem. Many women

have way way to much intestine. So

I went in and had surgery. Wow! A

person is supposed to have 6 ft. of large

intestine. I had 18 ft. They removed the

excess and I could once again go normally

but it only lasted 5 years. Now I'm back to

enemas again and have been the organic

natural unprocessed food route but that

apparently isn't the problem. I've been

talking to a naturopath who owns a large

company. I've taken all the various herbal things, done the colon cleanse all to no avail.

When I had my hernia surgery I asked my

surgeon if the intestine could have stretched that much and if it were possible

I had to much again and he said no but

taking enemas will not hurt anyone and

he thinks they are actually good for a

person and the naturopath agrees. I'm

very tired of having to take enemas in order to have a BM but it is a condition I

have to live with. I do take an herbal

laxative which worked for awhile but don't anymore.

Hello, I am sorry that some of the replies do not have a clue as to what they are talking about, e.g., hiatal hernia is actually in the region of the diaphragm where the esophagus enters the stomach -- in this case, either a part of the esophagus itself or a part of the stomach (possibly other abdominal tissue) protrude upward through a weakness or tear in the fascia surrounding the esophagus -- HAVING NOTHING TO DO WITH THE LARGE INTESTINE. For a more regulatable herbal laxative try "Senna leaves" For a more drastic herbal laxative try "Da Huang" -- you will go whether you want to or not.

In either case, seep or boil the herbs in water and allow to cool and drink -- do not take pills or capsules of the herbs since humans are not ruminants (like goats, cows, etc.) we cannot digest cellulose and therefore will get little or no benefit from whole or ground herbs. You may want to check with an MD to get a "barium scan" to see if there is an obstruction or cohesions, etc. in the large intestine (regretfully may require a barium enema). Sherry,

I just read your post and I'm so sorry to hear about your condition.

I do know that cascara sagrada will make your bowels move. Also as I was reading, I was thinking about mucus, perhaps a layer of mucus has turned down the nerve endings in the bowls or perhaps you should look in the files for the brain and nerve tonics.

I'm just thinking out loud here, it's how I problem solve. But if it's nerves that give the signal to the bowels to work, then that might be a good place to start.

I would still maintain the organic as much as possible and also definately do the Total Tonic from the files, but definately think about the nerve repair or brain stuff.

I can tell you what work wonders for me is doing a fast and working on the colon with Formula #1 and #2. When I did that from day 16 to day 37 on the fast I had 14 feet of black hard solid stuff come out and believe me by that time on a fast you do not have lose stuff floating around. When I returned to eating I would eat and poop, I would wake up and poop, it was great I never had a colon that worked that way. I got all that old built sludge that was stuck out of me. Hi Debra,

OK, what the heck I've tried everything else over the past 38 years.

The catalog that I get "my stuff" from has

something called "colon enhancer" It says: Take this product for 3 months. When taken as directed, it will loosen the tough, mucous coating on the intestinal walls and help dislodge it out of the body.

It contains black walnut hulls, golden seal root, organic wheat grass, citrus pectin, bentonite, psyllium seed husks, vitamin C. You take this according to your weight. The problem is it says the

weight scale is on another page but it's

not there so, I'll have to call.

Since I'm having knee replacement surgery soon I'm not sure I should do this

before I heal up enough to get to the

bathroom in a hurry. I'll be using a walker for 6 weeks followed by a cane for

another 6. Is this similar to what is in the

archives?

years ago I went in for a pain in my left

side and a very distinct lump. The doctor

said he thought it was just a fatty tumor

and to leave it alone unless it began to

grow or hurt bad. Well it did so in I went

and once he got in there it was a large

hernia. Well he sewed the patch on the

muscle wall so the intestine couldn't

push through. I'm still sore but glad it's

over.

I've had a lot of intestinal problems over

the years since I was a kid. I was always

very constipated and when I was about 20 all of a sudden found I no longer had

the urge to have a bowl movement. Laxatives were to no avail so I had to

resort to enemas. I'd been to many many

doctors including natural ones. I always

as a kid ate tons of raw veggies and apples, plums, pears which didn't help

either.

In 1990 I finally found a doctor an

internist who stumbled across a "white

paper" on my problem. Many women

have way way to much intestine. So

I went in and had surgery. Wow! A

person is supposed to have 6 ft. of large

intestine. I had 18 ft. They removed the

excess and I could once again go normally

but it only lasted 5 years. Now I'm back to

enemas again and have been the organic

natural unprocessed food route but that

apparently isn't the problem. I've been

talking to a naturopath who owns a large

company. I've taken all the various herbal things, done the colon cleanse all to no avail.

When I had my hernia surgery I asked my

surgeon if the intestine could have stretched that much and if it were possible

I had to much again and he said no but

taking enemas will not hurt anyone and

he thinks they are actually good for a

person and the naturopath agrees. I'm

very tired of having to take enemas in order to have a BM but it is a condition I

have to live with. I do take an herbal

laxative which worked for awhile but don't anymore.

RE: Herbal Remedies - hernia question

I think getting her body cleaned up will help the symptoms of hernia. As far as the diagnosis itself, I'm NOT a doctor, I'm NOT a health professional, I'm not anything official - this is just my opinon. I believe that hiatal hernia is one of those conditions that gets GROSSLY overdiagnosed. When a doctor can figure out no other solution, they diagnose hiatal hernia. Their solutions are drugs and surgery. They rarely address overall diet (at best they say avoid this and this). Our bodies are designed to be healthy. We've trashed them with an onslaught of non-food and environmental chemicals. - and then we wondery why they don't work right - let's go in a FIX IT!I'm sorry, this is a little rant I go on now and again, probably far more than you wanted to read. My personal opinion is that COMPLETELY changing her diet to real, whole, unprocessed food will help her symptoms.Terri-angel <godblessedmewithanangelherbal remedies Subject: RE: Herbal Remedies - hernia questionFri, 16 Dec 2005 22:30:16 -0800 (PST)> > yes..you are right and she has been changeing her eating im very > proud of her actually b/c she was one of them ppl that it was hard > to convince what she was actually doing to herself but she > relized it and has been making changes..thank you for replying...so > do u think that with the hernea's this would also help?? or does > anyone else know...?? One time many, many years ago I actually swallowed a dozen Exlax. Nothing happened, everything turned to

liquid but I never got the urge to poop so

had to spend the entire night on the floor

in the bathroom flushing.

Re: Herbal Remedies - hernia question

I can tell you what work wonders for me is doing a fast and working on the colon with Formula #1 and #2. When I did that from day 16 to day 37 on the fast I had 14 feet of black hard solid stuff come out and believe me by that time on a fast you do not have lose stuff floating around. When I returned to eating I would eat and poop, I would wake up and poop, it was great I never had a colon that worked that way. I got all that old built sludge that was stuck out of me.
