Guest guest
MSM is organic sufur, which exists naturally in the body, but we often don't have sufficient levels of it, depending on our diet. It exists in milk, meat, fish, fruits, vegetables, nuts and seeds, but when food is heated or processed most of the MSM is destroyed. It is found mostly in our muscles, bones, skin, nails and hairand the supplement is often used to relieve symptoms of arthritis, as it acts as an anti-inflammatory. It's also a good detox supplement. You almost can't take too much of it, though I have heard conflicting advice about how to start. Some people say to take a large amount of it for the first week or two (upwards of 6,000 to 9,000 mg per day) to those who tell you to start out slow (about 250-500 mg per day). I started out taking 2-3 1,000 mg capsules per day and had no ill effects. I've taken it to help in the regrowth of my hair, which had started falling out dramatically two years ago (I'm now 40), and it does seem to be helping.
