Hi Group, Hemochromotosis is a very understated and yet very abundant condition these days. For some reason it does not recieve the same attention as Mercury, Aluminum and other toxic metal overload disease? IOD ( Iron Overload Disease) is also one of the most baffling diseases and unfortunately is not even well understood to medical scientists who want to sweep it along with many other diseases under the (gene) carpet!Just because you have a gene for some condition means very little really. We all have them and it takes other factors to express those problems, so dont get too overheated by genes! I began my Hemochromotosis research many many years ago because of my mothers condition as well as mine and even moreso because I am a professional Aviculturist ( person who raises exotic birds) This disease has wreaked havoc in many very precious species of birds in captivity. It is this work with birds which finally offered

the humans suffering from this disease some modicum of hope. The species of birds affected with it are all species that drink water heavily burdened with tannins from forest leaves in the jungle and do not seem to have a problem with increased Iron levels from their food and environment when living in nature. These birds also consume diets heavy in organic and non organic Iron and yet survive till they are brought into captivity where they rapidly die from complications of IOD.It took us awhile to figure out what might be the total or only a partial answer to this condition in birds ( and humans it turns out) but it centers around the taking of leaf tannins when consuming the Iron in our diets. This can be done effectively with a number of teas available to all, anywhere. Some teas contain more than others but the essential ingredient in all are tannins that will bind with the Iron and then allow the body to dispose of it. With the birds the mere addition of green tea or

others to their water completely stopped the condition in captivity.I drink Green Tea and Chinese tea myself and my Iron levels are normal now whereas before they were quite high.I realize on this list that Caffeine is frowned upon however, this particular condition is truly a death sentence and a slow and angonizing one at that and the addition of these teas has normalized many who would have otherwise had to give blood continuously and even then suffered along. To those of you with Hemochromotosis and concerned with Caffeine levels and who wish to try this very simple and effective treatment please test for yourself teas made from leaves that bear a lot of tannins ( usually bitter or puckering to the mouth when taken unsweetened) I am sure there are non caffeinated ones also but then what other things do they contain that we are unaware of? Pick your poison. Don Yvonne Ramirez <yramirez47 wrote: Thank you very much. This is very helpful as I do not like taking prescription medication. He is supposed to be careful about the amount of iron he gets in his diet. He has also given blood several times to lessen the amount of iron in his blood. They have always thrown it away. They told us they could not use it for a transfusion. Hope this helped. Susan
