Guest guest
My late mother-in-law had sinus so badly that she was scheduled to have an operation. When at the ENT doctor for the last appointment before the op, he suggested that she go home and snort salt water (a little dissolved in some warm water - one can use a syringe - without the needle of course:)). She did this and never had to have the operation. Some time later when my husband was suffering a sinus infection, he remembered the doctor's advice to his mom and tried the same thing. Success! I have used this remedy when I have had a cold and excess mucus, also with great success. It is a cheap remedy and worth a try. I don't use a syringe anymore, but either scoop the water up by hand, or put it in a glass and snort from there. Whatever works. Guest guest
Thanks for the welcome and the advice everyone. Last night I also tried mixing coconut oil with a little dried peppers and put a big glob down each nostril as I was laying on my bed. Someone else had suggested that as they has done that years ago with Vics vapor rub. Of course it was gross and melted very quickly but I blew out some interesting stuff later. I am into coconut oil and have received a lot of healing by using it. I will try the salt water as I had forgot about that one. I am going to try to hunt down the ingredients for Doc's recipes today and try that too. Thanks loads! Jeanne
Guest guest
Also; even just gargling with warm salt-water can reduce inflammation of the Sinuses; as the Salt is a natural-antiseptic. Guest guest
Hi, Jeanne, If you don't mind, any info that you have about coconut oil, I wish you would share. I started using it to cook with, The first time I bought it, it was just coconut oil, the second time I bought it, it was extra virgin coconut oil. I don't like this kind, everything taste like coconuts. So I use it for my skin, as it is very dry in the winter. I just rub it on. I hope that is okay. So welcome to the group, and please share!!!
