Guest guest
I am new to the group and excited to have found this through a natural foods e-group member. I have a sinus infection and finally broke down and went on a round of antibiotics which didn't do much. My doctor phoned in another type of antibiotic but I don't want to use it. Any suggestions on help with clearing this up? I have to go out of town for a week on business and need to figure this out quick. Thanks Jeanne
Guest guest
Jeanne- The best thing I found for Sinus infections is Doc's herbal snuff formula. My cousin had a similar issue as you. I gave him the formula and he went to the health food store and got 3 out of 4 ingredients (bayberry bark may be hard to find). Within 20 minutes his sinus infection was gone. It burned a little because he used too much. Start slow, you can always do more. If you can't find the bayberry bark powder, just double the golden seal root.... you may have to buy this stuff in capsule form and then empty the capsules....only use a real small amount in the beginning, like the size of a head of a pin... you can always increase... it may burn and sting a bit but it will work... Herbal Snuff Formula (A part is a measurement by volume = cups, Tbls, etc.)7 parts Goldenseal Root Powder7 parts Bayberry Bark Powder1 part Cayenne Pepper Powder1 part Garlic Powder All the above must be ground up very finely. Best to use Habanero Cayenne as it is the hottest. Mix it very well as a clump of Cayenne could keep your eyes in tears for an hour ;o) Won't hurt you though. Guest guest
I spent some time reading through some of the files last night. I was very intrigued. But I doubt I'll be able to do any of them since so much of it seems to revolve around Echinacea. When I was sick with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, I found that anything that " boosts the immune system " was bad news. A dose of Echinacea was guaranteed to bring on terrible CFS symptoms. Even though I don't have it anymore, I'm VERY hesitant to try the herb again. Guest guest
I have found when I have a sinus infection, if I applied heat it made it feel better. As for taking a certain herb I am not much help on that, but there are a lot of people on here that are very experienced with that. Good luck to you. Guest guest
Is Chronic Fatigue one of the autoimmune disorders? So that would make sense if the immune system is already revved way up there. Also just a note regarding valerian and sleep...check it out for yourself VERY conservatively i.e. low dose because some people react just opposite with valerian. Keeps me awake til those proverbial cows come home. Lots of other people too from what I read.maddress wrote: I spent some time reading through some of the files last night. I was very intrigued. Guest guest
There are lots of theories about CFS. One of them (which makes the most sense to me) is that it is an autoimmune disorder. The immune system appears to be on superdrive, causing many of the same symptoms that people experience when they have a bad case of the flu. Guest guest
Terri, if CFS is NOT an autoimmune disease, then try taking very small doses of Echinacea and work your way up. love Lisa - maddress herbal remedies Saturday, December 03, 2005 3:22 PM Re: Herbal Remedies - help with sinus infection I spent some time reading through some of the files last night.
