It's probably an infected root and I need a root canal but I am too busy to sit in a dentist's chair for a couple of hours. Besides, I hate going to the dentist. Does anybody in this group have a sure-fire cure for a throbbing toothache!!!! I've tried cloves, mint, benzocaine (Ora-gel), swishing with peroxide. Aspirin helps for awhile, then the throbbing returns a couple hours later. Thank you for any help (besides telling me to go to the dentist). Guest guest Posted November 29, 2005 Report Share Posted November 29, 2005 Hi Karen, Try some Oregano oil (neat) applied on/around the tooth with a q-tip. Beware that it is strong stuff.
