Guest guest
i thought i had already posted this yesterday, but i'll try again: gypsy you should look into getting a neti pot. i got one from http://www.healthandyoga.com/html/product/neti.html but there are many places selling these...local health food stores may carry one. this is a nasal cleansing practice from india. you basically pour salinated water through one nostril and out the other while leaning over (so the water does not go down your throat). it is a little weird at first, i'll admit. do this everyday. i have a friend who does this for her chronic sinusitis and it helps her a lot. it also helps relieve colds too (which is mainly what i use it for). but really it should be part of your daily body cleanse regimen. were you referring to menstrual cramps? if so, you might want to look into evening primrose oil, which would not be for immediate relief, but something you need to take everyday. some people claim it helps. i haven't used it because there is another claim that it helps the chances of conception too. various herbs are said to help ease cramping when taken as a tea such as raspberry leaf, black cohosh, blue cohosh, yarrow, lady's mantle (to name a few). i personally have not had much success with herbal or homeopathic cramp remedies, but each of us varies! what works for me is applying heat, focused & connected breathing, & acupressure. there are many books on acupressure, but see these links for some quick info on the points for menstruation/women's reproductive health: http://www.healthy.net/scr/article.asp?ID=1371 http://www.herbalshop.com/Acupressure/Acupressure_49.html also certain diet choices & a lack of sufficient exercise can lead to more painful cramping, so you might also want to take a look at these too. hope this helps! faeriechild
Guest guest
Regarding menstrual cramps, I take 500mg of Ginger Root 2x's a day. I also use Grapeseed Extract 50mg 2x's day. This also helps with my indigestion and acid reflux problems I have. I found out when I take both of them 2x's a day I feel a whole lot better and it definitely beats taking Tagamet. Also for allergies, I don't know how severe yours is but I take Feverfew 325mg. It doesn't also relieve my symptoms but for the most part it usually works. Hope this was helpful to you.
