Guest guest
Hi everyone, I'm looking for a way to get my daughter off Claritin. My daughter has asthma and allergies to dustmites (really bad) dogs, cats, etc. She has been taking Zyrtec and now Claritin for the last 5 or so years. Eash year she does a little better than the year before and her asthma is under control, but I would really like to get her to a point where she no longer needs pharmaceuticals to control her health. I would like to start working towards getting her off of Claritin first. I feel like if the allergies are no longer a health threat the asthma will get better too. She's 9 years old and I have her taking garlic pills (I'm going to work on switching to organic cloves instead) for the chronic sinusitis and she prefers homeopathic decongestants to sudafed. This time of year is difficult for her with the house being closed up and us having forced hot air for heat. I use dustmite covers on her bed, her heat vent is closed off as to not blow all that dust around her room. She is a critter lover which doesn't help things because we have a dog, inside/outside cat, rabbits and chickens and while I know that she really shouldn't be around them I can't keep her away from them. Animals are good for the soul even if they're not good for the allergies. Has anyone out there dealt with the same problems? What can I be doing for her naturally to improve her allergy problems and ultimately her asthma? Peace, Vivian
Guest guest
Hi Vivian, the ultimate handling would be a Total Body Cleanse - check the files for all details of this. love Lisa - bluegrassturtle herbal remedies Saturday, November 19, 2005 2:29 AM Herbal Remedies - Asthma & Allergies Hi everyone,I'm looking for a way to get my daughter off Claritin. My daughter has asthma and allergies to dustmites (really bad) dogs, cats, etc. Has anyone out there dealt with the same problems? Guest guest
Dear Vivian I have never had allergies so please take my advice with the knowledge it's all book learned and studied - as well as just recommendations from people who have done it. No personal experience. With allergies I always think of bee pollen and stinging nettles. Nettles are reputed to be EXCELLENT for allergies - use them fresh, but boiled first to deactivate the poison sting. I knwo someone who took nettles even when she was allergic to them lol. She was allergic to cats, nettles, anything. This helped her nettle allergy and she now breeds cats and has a massive garden Pollen is an extraordinary food. Its chocked full of vitamins and minerals and all the good body stuff. You can make it into candy with honey - since she's 9, that may make her more lenient with it. People who are allergic to pollent ake small amts to get over the allergy, kind of like the homeopathic way of thinking. Get LOCAL if POSSIBLE - since the bees pollinate from the area you are - the pollen much of the time contains small traces of the allergens of the area. Neat huh? Again, the homeopathic way of thinking there. Otherwise I'd look up some homeopathic allergy remedies if any work. Dont know herbal on allergies besdies nettle and the apitherapy with pollen, sorry Erin --- bluegrassturtle <bluegrassturtle wrote: > What can I be doing for her naturally to improve her > allergy > problems and ultimately her asthma? > Peace, > Vivian > Mail - PC Magazine Editors' Choice 2005
