Guest guest
Thank you to all who welcomed me and responded to my bleating. Doc, the first thing I did was to listen to your lecture when I found the site. I had just been reading a book from England on the good stuff and your lecture was totally in line with the info in the book - also written by a Dr of Naturopathy. It was a confirmation of the way I have chosen to go. I enjoyed the lecture very much - nice sense of humour:) - but also quite frightening what we have not been taught and what we put up with in the medical world. Fortunately I have never been much of a pill popper and have relied on natural foods and supplements mostly when ill. In fact I am recovering from a cold at the moment and am aware of mucous forming foods and the alkaline/acid balance chart is something I have had for years. Of course, it is one thing to have the chart and another to live by it! I grow some of my own organic vegetables and a couple of years ago I had an organic herb nursery. Unfortunately the small town in which I live here in South Africa was just not ready for it!!! My crop of carrots is waiting to get big enough for juicing and I am about to dust off the juicer and go for it. I have organic beetroot and leeks and some red onions, lettuce, arugula and spinach - and of course herbs by the score. I regularly add dandelion greens to my salads which I have every day. My drink as I sit and type is nettle tea. I am slowly weaning myself off milk in my decaff tea and heading for things herbal. There is quite a lot of game meat (very organic) here and free range chickens are available in the local supermarket, but fresh fish is out of the question as I live inland and frozen is all we can get..I make do with that. Lamb is a favoured meat of mine, but I am slowly eating less of it and leaning towards more fish. This all sounds really good and one wonders why I have put on so much weight in my life - that is because I have been cooking with cream and butter, eaten bread bread bread, chocolate and ice-cream and have a voracious appetite. I am sure there are emotional issues here too. Now it is a question of putting into practice the things I have already learnt. It is good to be here Marloe
Guest guest
Thanks Debra - I shall start the kelp first thing tomorrow morning. Do you take it at night at all? Marloe
Guest guest
Dear Marloe, Glad you enjoyed the lecture, the "sense of humor", and have decided to go the "natural" route ;-) Yes, the Medicos have most definitely betrayed our trust in them. They have violated their number one trust = "Do No Harm". My second lecture which I'm putting the final finishing touches to should be done shortly. I get into even more detail on the current ills that beset the world of people's health, and of course the simple, affordable solutions for these. Sorry to hear about your cold, but you should get over it quickly going the natural route. Remember your hot baths at nightime before bed, and a clove of Garlic up the rectum as a suppository to get aggressive with it. I cover the Acid / Alkaline balance in great detail in the second lecture. This is vital information. Good on ya for growing some of your own. We Yanks don't do anywhere near enough of that over here. During the World Wars, there was a practice called "Victory Gardens" where almost every household grew their own gardens and the health of the US was at its highest ever for over a decade. The health of Amercians had never been better, and has never reached it again since those days. The Fast Food Lifestyle took over. Considering GE (GMO) foods and the ultra poor quality of foods now grown, I think we should all go back to that successful action. One of the things I admire about South Africans, is that they tend to have their own gardens. I think this is marvelous. If we don't do it here in the States, I predict a sort of Pharmaggedon where a lot of people start dying around here. Kinda sad. As far as your weight is concerned, stress, personal issues, white sugar, white flour, and foods loaded with enzyme inhibitors can dramatically contribute to that problem. Another factor is exercise. Use it or lose it. ;-) Any who hon. Good to have you aboard with us. Keep us posted on your progress.
