Hello

 

I have just joined this group. For many years I have been a fan of

things naturopathic but have not always been a good follower of the

advice I have read! In fact sometimes I have just been downright silly

and eaten and drunk things that should not have been in my body. I am

now 55 years old and just plain FAT. Recently I have started looking at

my lifestyle again and started reading up on the good things again.

Dieting (the wrong way, fad diets) has led me to be fat - ruined my

metabolism etc. My body is now in a sad way and longing to be thin and

healthy.

 

Are there others out there in this group in the same situation with

whom I can talk/share in this new direction to good health?

I feel the same way. Tired of the weight issue and bad health. Can't wait to see the results of the tiny changes I have started taking since joining the group. When I can afford it I plan on doing the liver cleanse.

Herbal Remedies - New here...

HelloI have just joined this group. For many years I have been a fan of things naturopathic but have not always been a good follower of the advice I have read! In fact sometimes I have just been downright silly and eaten and drunk things that should not have been in my body. I am now 55 years old and just plain FAT. Recently I have started looking at my lifestyle again and started reading up on the good things again. Dieting (the wrong way, fad diets) has led me to be fat - ruined my metabolism etc. My body is now in a sad way and longing to be thin and healthy. Are there others out there in this group in the same situation with whom I can talk/share in this new direction to good health? Marloe

Hi Marloe welcome i'm new too ..still learning.. I'm almost 43 years old now put on some weight myself i have been on so many diets and pills over the years i no longer do that i know my body is telling me to go easy and take care so i have been trying to make changes.. education in all of this can be helpful i wish you wellMarloe <marloe wrote: HelloI have just joined this group. For any one looking to start getting healthier and don't know where to start look no further than Doc's 5 step lifetime health program..... I don't care if you want to lose weight, not get sick as much or have some crazy aliment that some Medical Doctor diagnosed you with. IT DOES NOT MATTER!!! Get your self away from being a symptom driven person and focus on giving your body the nutrients it needs and soon enough, your symptoms will just melt away.... Symptoms are great indicators that there is an issue with the body. It is your body's warning sign, but you can drive yourself bonkers trying to treat yourself this way....

My sister who is now 20 got lyme's disease when she was 11 or 12 and they didn't detect it until she was 14. Needless to say it caused some complications. The lyme had turned on a bunch of other symptoms and even though the lyme was gone the symptoms still persisted. The worst part about it she lost about 1/3 - 1/2 of her hair. But I finally got through to her and my mom that they needed to stop seeing doctors and worry about each individual symptom. They would tell me that they just wanted to go to the doctor to see what it was. I said then what? Well then we see what he says.... well I hate to break it to anyone but the doctors have drugs in their tool box to give you... and basically (with very few exceptions) that is it..... So then the doctors would diagnose my sister with something new and they (mom and sis) would get all worried about. I think the stress of worrying about it, is almost as bad if not more than the original symptom!! I finally convinced my mom and my sister after years and years to stop going to the doctors and instead focus on balancing my sister's body and giving it the nutrition it needs. It has been about a year or so.... and you know what her hair is better than it has been in over 6 years and she is much less stressed about each symptom b/c they are going away!! She is starting to understand that the body can heal itself.... she is not totally out of the woods yet b/c she is 20 and is slightly stubborn sometimes, but she is making huge progress....

 

The best major healing breakthrough that one can make has nothing to do with diet or herbs. It is in the mind. It is to say "Hey, I will take responsibility for my own health and do what it takes to get on the right path." It is so very empowering to do this. Rely on no one but your own self for your health. Today I've been feeling close the same as you, in that I know I can do better, but I just can't make myself do it the way I used to.

 

I also feel guilty that I'm not quite stepping up to the plate about it. Perhaps it's self sabotage.

 

Anyway, last week, I did a juice fas for three days. Went pretty well except for the withdrawal head ache. But of course, I've already ruined it by having coffee again.

 

But tonight I made a great recipe that I got from the Bragg literature, and I'm trying to improve my outlook and my efforts.

 

I went to the gym this morning, but developed a migraine while there and had to leave. I was telling myself it was because I was all backed up inside. Not clean enough. For a while, the truth of that was making me feel worse. But now I feel a renewed sense ambition. I can do this right?! It's up to me. So I best not beat myself up about it and just get to it.

 

My adivise for you is JUST DO IT! You can do it you know. I started taking kelp about 5 weeks ago and around the three week mark, I had already gone down a size in my clothes. Kelp supports the thyroid - metabolism.

Thanks for posting! I couldn't have said it better myself! I, too, was

sick and tired of being sick and tired! And let me tell you, I was one

sick kitty! I finally got fed up with being a guinea pig for the

Medicos and TOOK PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY for my health and the health

of my family. I have been studying health and nutrition for seven

years now and feel better than I ever have (I just turned 39...for

real ;) ) I am passionate about getting the word out...a person is not

just a sum of " parts " and " symptoms " that need to be " diagnosed! "

Leave the " diagnosing " to your auto mechanic and take your health into

your own hands! Once a person takes responsibility for one's health

and starts to STUDY and LEARN what true nutrition is, and then puts
