Help with pap smear

I wanted to add this...we had a family friend who went to the gyno with complaints that were very specific and had serious pain in the ovary areas among other symptoms. The dr's answer was to do a pap smear. The pap smear showed normal and they sent her home. Flash foward a few months later she was full of cancer. She would have had it when they did the exam based on the other drs findings....this is not at all to scare you...its just in agreement that you can have something wrong right there and even then the pap will do nothing...even at times the exam itself is ineffective. The best thingto do is trust your instincts and listen to your own body. You are seriously your own m.d. internally.

I recently received my pap smear results that said it was normal with " partial

obscuring inflammation " . I have to have the pap smear done again in 6 months.

If is is normal why do I have to go back before next year? Also what is partial

obscuring inflammation? It was exactly 1 week to the day before my period,

would that have something to do with it. Any information would greatly be

appreciated. I looked it up on the net, it doesn't look like I should worry or

it would have said abnormal instead of normal, but I tend to worry alot more

than others and am always doing " what ifs " . Please help me.

Thank you in advance,

Sharon

For one thing STOP doing the what if's. My Dr said to

quit it or some day soon you will drive your self

nuts. Your pap smear was that way because yes your

period was going to start soon. I have had abnormal

readings and they always came just befor they decided

I was pregnant.

So they are just trying to get you to spend more

money. And some of thoes Papsmears can be down right

painful.

I had one done 6 months ago, same sex partener for 33

years and they decided to do a look for genital warts

HAHA fat chance but they did it anyway. The stuff they

used in there made it pain full to even walk if I had

not rememberd someone saying to use Vita E capsul for

lubbrecant inthere for dry vagina. I would have soon

screamed. I happened to have a new bottle of Oil pills

in my pocket and inserted 2 right away. What a relife.

I am never going period for another one of them. I

mean Pap smear.

I had 11 children with no problem so Life will go on.

I will eat my garlic, take Total Tonic and Panther

Piss. I might also try the Dragon Snot really Doc.

Getting of my soap box

Thank you all

Pat M

Dear Sharon,

I always recommend against getting Pap Smears.

It has been my observation that they are:

1. Not very accurate depending on how close you are to your menses.

2. Can be affected by other conditions like candida.

3. Can be painful if you've got a butcher for an MD.

4. Don't really answer much.

Unless you're experiencing major symptoms of a serious nature, I'd forget 'em.

I haven't had any Paps for 12 years now.. am 47. Only reason I had one before was to rule out any infections my ex husband might have picked up while he was having his affair (one of the many reasons I divorced him). Luckily, I had only been with him "one" time after he started his affair with the town hooker ... and waited long enough for any symptoms to show up before going in to be checked. Luckily, I was "clean"... but I have known many other women who had painful biopsies, etc done for no good reason than to line the pockets of health "professionals". I have yet to have a mammogram either... even though my mother harps on my "need" for one. I nursed all 5 kids, have no symptoms and see no reason to subject myself to radiation!!

Dear Pat,

Very good advice. I like your Vit E solution.

With 11 kids, you certainly have been there, done that and only need the T-Shirt. ROTFLOL

Olive Oil or Flax Oil can also be used and are very soothing.

Love,

Doc

Good points Terri.

There are always physical "indicators" if something is serously wrong.

Cancer doesn't just happen overnight. There are plenty of warning signs.

It is the Medicos who make it all seem so serious and who put it across that you have to get that operation NOW!!! etc.

The love to scare the Bejeezus out of one and all so we'll rush to get the next greatest latest "fix".
