I have been reading about how pasturized milk kills enzymes. I have found raw, organic cheese. What exactly are the risks for raw milk and cheeses. I would be giving this to my children. So shoud I go with pasturized instead?

Thanks,

Kim

I would not go with pasteurized cheese instead -- we have been eating nothing but raw milk cheese for almost 2 years and my son is 3 1/2 years old. That is just my opinion --

where are you Kim?

Most people, when you buy the milk or cheese from the farm, have tested their animals and consume their products themselves. I give my family raw milk and cheese, but only from my own animals. I would never ever even drink my neighbor's milk because she has never had her animals tested. I couldn't convince her to follow the law and test before purchase. We are in a state that is supposed to be brucellosis free, but she bought goats from out of state and didn't test them, and if all dairy animal keepers were to do that, then there is no longer safety.

Can you ask the person from whom you will get the milk? I would never sell milk that could harm someone, as I could lose my farm. Most farmers feel the same way and are absolutely 100% positive that their animals are clean. Course, I live in a state where it is illegal to sell milk from the farm, raw or otherwise.

It is from Organic Valley. The same people that make milk. They offer some raw cheeses.
