I have been taking mega doses of Vit. C. most of my adult life. I have gone as far as 25 grams in a day when I'm sick. I usually take 4 grams of ester-C powder every day. I never heard of it being toxic at any level, as it is water soluable and you just pee any excess out as the day goes on. Most recommendations say to take it to bowel tolerance. When you begin to get diarrhea it means you don't need quite that much and to cut back on the dosage. When I get things like upper respiratory, I take 2 grams per hour! My body loves Vit. C.

Vanessa: Vitamin C is a water-soluble vitamin and the

excess is excreted in the urine, so it is hard to

overdose. I have never heard of the hardening of the

arteries thing and cannot imagine the mechanism by

which that would happen. It is likely that you will

cause yourself to have diarrhea by taking extremely

high doses. Once you have diarrhea, Vitamin C is being

wasted (literally). One of the things I do when I take

high dosese of Vitamin C is take 250 mg. (I use the

powdered form in water) and add 250 mg every hour

until I have diarrhea. Then, I back off 250 mg. and

take that dose every 4 hours for several days. That

should give you a saturation at the cellular level.

Also, do not forget the power of garlic to kill off

viruses and bacteria. I keep garlic-stuff olives and

pickled garlic in my refrigerator all fall and winter

to munch on when I feel like I am getting sick. It

frequently kills the germs. Be well.

Hi Vanessamelly,

You seem to be having all kinds of problems!

To bring some clarification to your problem: If a person takes

high dosages of vit c and does not take or have enough reserves of

alkaline minerals in their body and or a good carbon source with high

minerals in it, then the vit c can make the person very sick!!

If you want to take vit c and get the best results, then you might

try taking one tablespoon full of pure blackstrap molasses along with

the vit c to provide a carbon source rich in alkaline minerals so you

get good results instead of bad results.

You need to take some kind of good Probotics to supply the stomach

with the ability to digest the food you are trying to eat, other wise

you are going to continue to have problems.

Also go to the denist and correct any tooth infection you are

having so it will stop bothering you and causing you to have sinus

and other infections.

To help stop the infections, Garlic is one of the best things to

take, do not take garlic with any protein, but use a good carbon

source such as blackstrap molasses to go along with it.

Smile for there is hpoe, Tis now your choice.
