(new title) Choosing not to vaccinate

Our parents wanted the best for us.... they looked at the issue, and vaccinated

us. We want the best for our children... we look at the issue again, study the

data gathered over the years as vaccines have been routinely administered,

....and realize that vaccines are not as safe as our parents (etc.) thought they

were. (Many parents in the 60s also went along with the common belief that

formula was better than breast milk. We know now that that is absolutely false.

Just because our parents did it- even if in good faith-- does not mean that they

were right or that the issue should not be revisited when there is more research

data available) No one here is trying to put their children in danger- we are

simply trying to make educated decisions about what is best for them.

I suggest that anyone interested in this topic do thorough research. While the

research can be scary, I do want to point out that it still may be safer to

vaccinate your child. Each child has different needs and different risks. A

toddler who attends the local daycare, handling and sucking on toys that have

been touched by other children and breathing the same air as several other

children in a small room will have a much different risk for disease than the

toddler who stays home with mom. (One risk the toddler in daycare will have is

contact with other children who are vaccinated. For example, polio cases today

are usually caused by contact w/vaccinated person i.e. mother changing baby's

contaminated diaper). So, if I had a toddler in daycare, I would vaccinate

because his disease-contact risk would be higher However, if my toddler stays

at home, the risks of vaccination are greater, so I would not vaccinate.

BTW, I am the mother of four unvaccinated children ages 2-10. The 10yr old has

required a doctor 3X in her life (1 ear infection which the doctor said did not

need treatment, bad cough, strep). The 8 yr old has required a doctor visit

1X in her life (in addition to 1 visit to ER for stitches), the 4 yr old has

been 1X for strep, the 2 yr old- never. None of them have allergies, asthma,

any type of disease, or learning problems. I believe that my children are much

healthier than average due to the fact that their immune systems were not

overloaded at a young age. When a normal virus or bacteria enters the body, it

triggers receptors in nose/mouth/ etc which alert the rest of the immune system

in the proper order. When a vaccination is loaded directly into the

bloodstream, the normal process has been bypassed and the body has to jump to

immediately deal with a large dose of " bad guys " . I think this is hard on

developing immune systems (and especially hard on infants who are often

subjected within a few hours of birth).

Also, if your child has been vaccinated and you are worried about the effects,

I'm pretty sure there are herbal remedies which help rebalance the immune

system. If I remember correctly, metal detox is suggested along with other

things. Here is a link to an interesting article regarding metals and

vaccinations: http://tinyurl.com/9685d

I heartily join in on the recommendation of doing the research.

Sincerely,

Diana

I can't believe in this day and age, why anyone would not want the best for

their children? Once a upon a time ago, children would die from polio, diptheria

etc. Here is a question for you? Did your parents care enough to have you

vaccinated?

I do not have any children, but I would try not to put my children in danger.

This is my opinion. And I am just voicing my opinion.
