Guest guest
Hey Marsha, We all have bad days. It happens. Now, as for oil suppliers. There are quite a few good folks out there, and on this list even! But as for oil " grades " they don't exist. There is no grading organization or body out there. Some things to look for when purchasing oils is a supplier that has their oils quality tested, will give you botanical names, country of origin, production method and getting the production dates are a very big plus too. Essential oils should be undiluted and unadulterated UNLESS they specify that they are diluted to a certain percentage and list what the dilution medium is. Oh, and one last thing - a red flag to look for any time you are buying essential oils is if they are all priced the same. Rose oil and lemongrass oil should not be the same price per ounce ;-p *Smile* Chris (list mom) http://www.alittleolfactory.com m_lybra [m_lybra] Tuesday, April 20, 2004 1:14 PM sorry I've been swamped at work and have been meaning to post this apology. Sorry for sounding defensive and bitchy. I know you all mean good. So.. I'd like to learn about all the great suppliers of Oils. Who do you all by from? What's it's grade? (Grade A or ??) (Are the oils pure or mixed with carrier oil) What do you like about the company you buy from? Thanks, and again I apologize. Marsha

Sorry but there is no such thing as a " grade A " or any other " grade " of oils. Keep looking here and you will see this mentioned again and again. The only fools who push " Aromatherapy Grade " or whatever grade have their fingers in your wallet. It is Hype. . This is not to say there are not good oils and bad oils.. just there is no rating method for essential oils, no " standard " that can be placed on such a natural product as essential oils. Oils can be " burnt " in a still, have a " Still Note " be over processed have things added to them etc . but they cannot be graded. As to mixing Oils in a carrier oil this is fine so long as the vendor tells you it is done and what % the mix is.
