Greetings,

I have seen a number of references regarding the advised use of Sodium/Calcium Ascorbate ( Vitamin C) with regards to protection against flu and colds as well as other virals.Of course, there are many other applications as well for this vitamin as far as health goes.Unfortunately, I am also seeing a number of conflicting opinions and I am confused about a few things so would like to ask this list and you Doc, what your take is on them?

1. Is it true Ascorbate either Calcium or Sodium is more effective in the body than regular Ascorbic Acid? Why?

2. Pauling/ Rath felt that it was imperative to take large doses with each person needing a differing amount and determined by "digestive upset" as the easy way to determine this amount. What say you?

3. I have located both coated and uncoated forms. The uncoated is pretty acidic and not the easiest to swallow due to sourness. Putting it into a capsule is a pain and hopefully there are other tried methods that work easier than this?

4.Is the Ascorbate form usually more expensive than the ascorbic form? Where I live a kilo of Ascorbate costs me 50 dollars per kilo ( 2.2 lbs).

5.If humans need these huge amounts of Ascorbate dosed throughout the day arent there other more natuarl foods that can deliver the same amounts in the correct amounts and if so what are they?

Thanks much!

Go to Doc's files and find the article about the best Vitamin C on the earth. And guess what, you can make yourself.
