Guest guest
Hi all, I am planning on getting a juicer and want to know what you all would recommend. I have read some reviews on the Champion that say it spews when it's juice comes out and also that is doesn't do 'soft' fruits well...oranges etc. I have also read a review that said it's high speed can heat up the juice...destroying some nutrients. I've also looked at the Breville 800JEXL Juice Fountain Elite Juicer, a 1000 watt centifugal juicer. Any experience, thoughts or suggestions will be greatly appreciated!!! love, Stevie

Guest guest
That’s what I have, and I love it! I think that and the Champion are the best. But I think the Jack LaLanne gets more juice out. Guest guest
I have a vita-mix, that makes the most wonderful whole juices, grinds grains, even cooks what you juice if you want. It makes wonderful breakfast drinks. The only big problem is the cost. I was lucky enough to find mine at a garage sale. A little costly for a garage sale item but I knew the original cost so grabbed it. Just wondered if anyone else on the group might have one. Guest guest
I have a Champion, and it is the best. Its costs a lot more that a usual blender, but I really believe you get what you pay for. I have had my Champion for about 8 years. Guest guest
I have had a VITA-MIX for over five years with no complaints or technical problems, but it is not a juicer, even on the high settings. It is a great blender & good for most things. It does not separate pulp from juice & it can heat up the contents to possibly kill valuable enzymes... & isn't that some of what we are going after? fauxtexas
Guest guest
You are right if you don't want the whole goodness of vegetables etc. A juicer does seperate the good pulp, but I do whole tomatoes, and it uses all the skins etc, then I can strain the juice if I want to get rid of the seeds, but mostly they are fine in there for what ever......... I see a lot of waste in a juicer... but then again I have both................... You can do every vegetable you want and get all the goodness from the whole veggie, peels and all..Just takes time to strain it if you want it that way, I know it doesn't do hard root vegetables good, so then you use the juicer.............. As far as heating..it is a thing that you can do or not do. Just don't leave it on long enough to to heat up. Its anyones preference. Nice for how ever you want to use it. I know there are good points and bad points with them both. Claudia ---- Robert Shinn 10/30/05 16:47:21 herbal remedies RE: Herbal Remedies - Juicer recommendations... Guest guest
I also have a Vitamix. We use it most every day sometimes twice. I start with some protein mix then add some water and or organic soy milk, " total nutrition " , banana, grapes, strawberries (sometimes frozen), grapeseed extract, Dr. Udo's oil, ice, sometimes raw egg, + other things to try. Kind of like a protein shake / smoothie, only way to mask the taste of the total nutrition. My son likes it sweeter so I add some Stevia. This morning I was peeling a grapefruit and the rind stuck to the inside and I was too lazy to peel it all off, so I dropped into the Vitamix and just drank it. It also makes great Frapachinos with much less calories and cost. Joe Message: 1 Sun, 30 Oct 2005 07:04:08 -0500 (Eastern Standard Time) " tizzy " <tizzy RE: Juicer recommendations...
