Guest guest
Hi-I think i need to clarify my question. I have had chronic headaches and have taken large doses of Excedrin. I need the milk thisltle to help my liver because of this. I actually need some substitute for the pain of the headaches while I do the total body cleanse, but am not sure what that would be and would love any suggestion. I am also wondering in what dosage should I take the milk thistle and in what form to help fix the damage i am sure has been done by the large dosages of Excedrin. Betty S. Guest guest
Hi Betty For your Liver, I would suggest 420Mg per day, taken in two dosages. My wife was on this dosage and reduced her Viral Load (Hepatitis C) signifincally. As it is a food, it will do no harm (not sure about if you are pregnant though!). Kind regards Jeff ps. Please do not take MT with Echinacea, they are not combatable. J

Guest guest
Hi Betty! I took Darvocet for my version of Migraine headaches for about ten years. It came to the point that I required more and more for relief. I got so bad I would take as many as ten (100/600)in twelve hours and still no relief. Eventually I developed an immunity and allergy to the acetaminophen in the Darvocet. The proproxyphene was making me fuzzy brained also. My headache rebound was extremely hurtful. My face would swell up and itch terribly. My lips would be ten times their normal size. My immune system would fail because it was working on the acetaminophen poisoning. Since then I've found out that 2400 mg acetaminophen (that is four Darvocet) in 24 hours is the maximum anyone should take. But if this is done for many days/weeks the amount allowed daily lowers to reduce the rebound and allergic reactions. I cannot take NSAIDS (aspirin, Motrin, etc) because they drive my high blood pressure out of sight. I've tried tramadol with no success either. My tramadol side effects are terrible sleep dreams and inability to settle down with no relief from the pain. I had to take Milk Thistle to regenerate my liver from the acetaminophen poisoning. I took four 250mg capsules a day (commercial caps from DoctorsTrust.com. I buy my bulk herbs from SpiceDiscounters.com and fill my own capsules). [A bio-feedback practioner told me a story: If your body finds that its production of pain from hurt is being reduced your body will grow new receptor paths to assure you are having pain to diagnose the hurt. A visual of this would be to hold your finger tips together in front of you and drop two or three fingers on one hand to show the pain reliever. Then have someone else put their hand/fingers next to your dropped fingers and that will be what your very smart body does by adding receptors that will be immune. Thus creating a vicious cycle.] In the last few years there was an acetaminophen scare going around because a young women died from acetaminophen poisoning. This came from my Migrainuers' forum's I belong to. I broke the cycle using bio-feedback (relaxation) and the mental idea that I would not succumb to the pain anymore (mind over body). When I feel the pain coming on I just say out loud " I do not need this headache and I will not let you put me down today " . Sometime this is hard to do because of the pain but after repetitive use it becomes almost second nature and having to take any pill for relief is gone.
