My neighbor went to the " herb doc " as some call this man. I do not

know much about him. She went with headaches. This guy is one that

looks into your eyes and tells you what is wrong. Anyone know what that

is called? Anyway, he gave her several herbs to take including indian

tobacco. She has high blood pressure and I thought the that herb was

not good for people with high blood pressure. Please correct me is I am

wrong. I am trying to find out what else she has. I do know that her

headaches get very bad and when they are...do NOT talk to her.

Personally i think her hormones are out of balance, along with stress.

She has had medical tests and they just put her on too much medication.

I just need opinions about this herb.

Hi =0)

It is called iridology and it really is a good source of information about the body!

Now the Indian tobacco {Lobelia inflata } is used for asthma...it stimulates respiration and make you sweat more,it also reduces inflammation and it's an expectorant.

It's not given to pregnant woman or people with heart complaints.

That's all I know...I hope it helps =0)

Hello:

Indian Tobacco is another name for " Mullein " (as the Indians did

smoke the dried Mullein Leaves as a relaxant). Mullein are those big

tall velvety-green leaves with the tall-yellow spikes in the spring.

The plant grows about 3-5 feet tall along country-roads/gardens.

I have always heard good healing properties with Mullein, esp. Tea.--

" Good answer " ...I guess " Indian Tobacco " is a term that is used

interchangeably for many Herbs...by this I mean, not only did I read

that Mullein is also called Indian Tobacco but I grew a Mullein-

Plant in my garden (see prev. post)and a woman from Jamacia said once

" We smoke those leaves in our country " ; which proves Mullein Leaves

are a known type of " Indian " Tobacco. The American-Indians used to

line their Mocassins with the Large Velvety Mullein-Leaves in Winter.

But Biologically you are correct...Indian Tobacco is a Lobelia Plant!

My understanding of Iridology is that is used as a Diagnostic-tool.

But I look in people eyes all the time and I see " cataratchs(film) "

constantly...so reading People's eye-health is really really easy.

But on to Indian-Tobacco aka Lobelia...All Lobelia-Herbs are to be

taken with caution...the action of Lobelia is that it acts as a

relaxant on the Lungs and all collected mucous will be expelled.

But you say your friend has headaches. This herb is not for

headaches. In fact this Herb can cause Headaches and alot more.

What else in this Herb mixture? we don't want her getting " sicker " .
