My sister is having a problem with her sinuses. No problem when

she lived in Los Angeles but now she is in Dallas and her sinuses are

stuffed up and won't drain. She gets some very nasty headaches from

these. Ok, ok I know but the MD puts her on anitbiotic and the

problem goes away but half way through the treatment she starts having

the same problems.

I would appreciate and ideas. Thanks.

Also if you don't mind I have a problem with one joint on my index

finger right hand. I am a phlebotomist and when I am done drawing

your blood I would hold gauze on the area with my right hand esp. the

right index finger. Well here goes, I have been getting some severe

buning in that joint, it swells and gets warm. Any suggestions?

Thank you, Lori Lee

You want pretty fast relief. Cayenne tincture will help the sinuses just put a drop right on the tongue and for the finger mix some cayenne in olive oil and rub on the spot and see what happens.

Hi Lori!

I also suffer from serious sinus problems. In the past I would get a sinus infection and it would always turn into a bronchitis bout taking up to 20 plus days of antibiotics to cure. One 30 day antibiotic time causing me to develop systemic candida, which is deadly if not caught in time.

My solution is to get a nose irrigator 8 oz bottle from the store, this is the one with a large round hard plastic nipple to cover the nasal path (NeilMed Sinus Rinse is mine). The accompanied envelopes are really great but can become expensive so you may need to make your own solution to use.

Care in selecting the salt to use is paramount. You want to use a pure canning salt without any additives. Do not use iodized because it may cause damage to the lining over time. Sea salt has too many impurities to use. I use 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a quart of hot water. Store out of the sunlight, microwave it warm about 80 degrees F and it will wash the infection out of the sinuses leaving you able to breathe.

I use this solution three times a day or more often when I felt the nasal passages closing up. After about two to three days it will be gone.

Taking this route will take some effort to get used to doing it properly and it can be messy.

I have been doing this 'magic' for two years now and have not had to take pharmaceuticals for a long lasting sinus infection nor any bronchitis session.

I have tried using goldenseal, and echinacea, and cayenne, but it does not help, maybe because they are plants that can cause allergic reactions like hayfever.

The irrigation method I used for a long time was with a baby syringe but the bottle is more efficient and one 8 oz bottle for both nostrils is sufficient.

did you try golden seal as a nasal spray?

1/2-1 oz water (or salt water)

1 teaspoon golden seal tincture

drop of peppermint oil (optional)

snort until you can taste at the back of throat.

great for sinus infections
