Guest guest
For starters increase her consumption of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables, preferably organic. Also minimize her consumption of meats, pasta and bread..... Increase consumption of fresh, raw garlic. Increase consumption of total tonic.... Tonic Tonic: Put a a cup of garlic cloves, a cup of chopped onions, a cup of chopped ginger, a cup of chopped horseradish root and a couple of hot peppers in a blender. Fill the blender with Organic Apple Cider vinegar, a few inches above the top of the herbs. Blend the heck out of it. Store in some jars. Shake everyday and let sit for 2 weeks or so. Strain and you have total tonic. If you want to get started right away you can eat the mash and not let sit.... Have her take at least an ounce of this daily. For fresh garlic, you can chopped it up and swallow like a pill. I have my sisters doing this and it really isn't as bad as it sounds. Garlic breath is minimized doing it this way. Also make sure she drinks water to help her swallow the garlic. herbal remedies [herbal remedies ]On Behalf Of chickfarmer1Wednesday, October 12, 2005 11:22 AMherbal remedies Subject: Herbal Remedies - Childhood cholesterolHello All,I'm Debra and I just found this group and joined. Guest guest
Rob, Thank you for responding. I've printed out your tonic recipe. I think I'll have to try it out with a small batch first. She's only 5 and now she's developing her own likes and dislikes. What will the tonic do? My husband is Mr. Cholesterol. He just recently started lipitor as his triglycerides were 406. Yes you read that correctly. His mother is the queen of cholesterol. Can they stay on this as a regiment? or is it just clearing? something we should do for 30 days? Guest guest
Honey and Cinnamon are great for this. Also add some walnuts to her diet. My father in law lowered his cholesterol only with walnuts. But the other friend did that with honey and Cinnamon. It would be ok for your daughter to take one tablespoon of honey with one teaspoon of Cinnamon. Mix that and give her wit tea couple times a day 30 min. before meal. It helps. Do some research on honey and Cinnamon. Total body cleanse would be perfect but, she can do this and it will help her for sure. Make sure you soak walnuts at least 48 hr. and dry them well. 10 walnuts a day would do a job. If you can find cold press unrefined walnut oil it helps also. Walnut oil eats bad cholesterol. (for those that can't stand garlic) LOL Regards JasminaRob Combis <rcombis wrote: For starters increase her consumption of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables, preferably organic. Guest guest
Try to feed her whole, organic foods - no processed or hydrogenated foods. Also, her liver might be congested - has she been on prescription meds? I am sure there are tonics that children can use. Another option is Triphala - this is an ayurvedic mixture of three fruits that does the following: improves digestion, reduces serum cholesterol, improves circulation (potentiates adrenergic function), contains 31% linoleic acid, exerts a marked cardio-protective effect, reduces high blood pressure, improves liver function, has proven anti-inflammatory and anti-viral properties, expectorant, hypotensive http://www.planetherbs.com/articles/triphala.html My children (11 and 8) are both taking Triphala and it is quite gentle even for children. I know my daughter's liver is congested (traumatic pregnancy with her, dark circles under her eyes from birth, thyroid is low) and I want to take some precautionary measures before she develops any symptoms. Triphala comes in powder form that you can give your daughter or you can teach her to take pills. We use the Planetary Formulas brand. We did try the Now brand but it definitely didn't work as well. Guest guest
Buy raw walnuts and soak them in water and sea salt (a tablespoon or two added to the water - enough to cover the nuts). Drain and then they need to be dried slowly in a very low oven or in a dehydrator. I use a dehydrator for about 18-24 hours and they come out tasting great. Walnuts can be bitter when they aren't soaked and dried. A good book to get regarding a healthy diet is " Nourishing Traditions. Guest guest
Hi Debra- This is actually Doc Shillington's (the list owner) Recipe. This is one formula you can take for the rest of your life.... It is a great overall boost for the body. It feeds the good bacteria, increases circulation, fight bad bacteria, viruses and fungi, and will help with cholesterol and other circulatory issues.... Cholesterol is the body's lubricant for arteries. It increases when the arteries narrow.... garlic for one, actually works at widening the arteries by killing the plaque that is on the walls of the arteries.... so with the nightly garlic and total tonic....you will be doing a great job of putting the body back into balance... You can't over do it with garlic or total tonic....and actually when one of you gets sick...increase the consumption of both and it will help your body heal faster. And with all this crap going around about the bird flu, if everyone did just the garlic and total tonic, you would be well protected....Of course if you do suspect that you have the flu, greatly increase your consumption of both. Increase your consumption of freshly juiced fruits and veggies and make sure you are having 3 or more bowel movements a day. Hot/Cold Showers are a great way to help the nutrients circulate through the body... Let me know if there are any more questions... Guest guest
Debra- For the garlic, you need to use the fresh stuff...meaning the whole clove, a bunch of them. I actually tested out store bought chopped garlic versus the fresh stuff. I chopped up the fresh stuff. I took a little bit each and chewed in my mouth. The store bought, already chopped stuff, did not burn in my mouth like the fresh stuff did. This leads me to believe that the fresh stuff is much more potent. So definitely use the fresh stuff!!!! Guest guest
Excellent Rob, Thank you. I don't mind doing the whole garlic, I'm just lazy and if I could get away with the other, then I would. You gotta laugh. Miss Natural is lazy. Debra - Rob Combis herbal remedies Friday, October 14, 2005 10:25 AM RE: Herbal Remedies - Childhood cholesterol Debra- For the garlic, you need to use the fresh stuff...meaning the whole clove, a bunch of them. I've done the hot/cold shower. They are invigorating, but I'm such a whimp about it. Ha Ha Debra - Rob Combis herbal remedies Thursday, October 13, 2005 11:07 AM RE: Herbal Remedies - Childhood cholesterol Hi Debra- This is actually Doc Shillington's (the list owner) Recipe. Debra - Rob Combis herbal remedies Wednesday, October 12, 2005 12:08 PM RE: Herbal Remedies - Childhood cholesterol For starters increase her consumption of fresh, raw fruits and vegetables, preferably organic.
