my almost 4 mos old has had problems with a stuffy nose since he was a couple of weeks old. I have done saline, used the bulb syringe, used a cold mist humidifier and they've tried 2 different meds to no avail.

does anyone know what else i can do to help my baby?

hi, nikki,

i'm sorry to hear that your little one has problems. what are you using to do your laundry? what cleaning products are you using? what kind of soap are you using? someone sent a great list of natural products to use to clean and do laundry. maybe someone has a copy and will resend it.

take care,

try the Total Tonic and Echinacea tincture, make sure that you apply the 150 dosage rule (see file) for kids/babies. That should build up his immune system as well as handle whatever infection he has.

What is he ingesting?

What are you feeding him? Could be a reason.

The reason I asked that, my son had the same situtation at 6 months old. I had them put him on antibotics to try to get rid of the problem. Then shortly after the ear infection started, few months later the tube went in, in the same week I stop the Enfamel formula and he started regular milk and never had a ear problem again, no drainage etc.

Nikki-

this is a good place to start.

Fragrance oils are synthetic and cause more allergic reactions than

most any other ingredient. Buying fragrance free is not a good

idea, either. A synthetic ingredient is added to remove all signs

of scent.

Go for the natural cleaning products and body care products.

Everything touching the body is absorbed through the skin and

children are especially at risk.

Read the labels. You will need a degree in chemistry. Make your

own or buy them online. This is the trend and the market is flooded

with them.

I have a formula for making your own laundry soap. It works quit

well. It may be a few days before I can post it, but I will if you

are interested.

This is what my aunt does when her twin babies had colds and such. She would run the shower and water in the bathroom to a steamy hot where you could see the seem in the whole room. Then she and my uncle would take the babies into the bathroom and hold them in the bathroom for like 15 minutes as long as there was steam. Usually this cleared up the stuffiness in the colds. My aunt is a mother of 11 so I know she knows what she is doing. Good luck to you and your baby.Nikki <athenadreamsia wrote:

you should never give regular milk (cow's milk) to children under the age of 2 years old. It is bad for their nervous system...It could be alergies , also the bottle can cause ear infections a cup is always better to use.. alot of times kids grow out of this my son did...Gina Kopera <ginakopera1 wrote:

Hi Nikki,

I wouldn't give my son a commercial formula when he was a baby - I made my own. check:

http://health.herbal remediesMembers%20Contributions/ and check the Baby Barley Formula.

If you make sure the ingredients are organic, and sprout the Barley before boiling, you'll have the best possible formula your child could have!! And I've NEVER heard of any baby throwing this up!!

I cant agree with you enough. This was 9 years ago. If I had to do it all over again, I would not do any of it. But that is what happened at the time. I can see the whole pattern now. It is interesting that you say it is bad for the whole nervous system, he was Dx with epilepsy a year ago.

I had the same problem with my baby. Hers was evidently caused by climate. when I moved from Western Washington to the sunny side of the state, it disappeared overnight.
