My daughter is on Lexapro and has been for several years, she wants to stop taking it gradually but is afraid . She also wants to chooses an alternative to Lexapro. What do you think about sugesting Holy Basil ?

Any suggestions?

Oh Good question ! Lexapro - is an anti - depressent. Often prescribed for depression - or bi - polar ( bi-polar is a ridiculous buz word in my book - but what ever)

Dear Marilyn

 

I would caution taking your daughter off of Lexapro. Depending on her age, I would see an alternative at this point. Consult you doctor, and see why it is not agreeing with her first.

There's two possible alternatives: Lobelia or nerve sedative. Both recipes are in the files on the group's website.
