Guest guest
Hi Gina, Is your cayenne tincture recipe in the group files. Also, how accessible is it to get your hands on the ingredients. I am not familiar with it and am not sure where I would be able to get it. Guest guest
If you just put A drop on your tongue soon as the heat goes away you will feel healing. Sore throat a drop on the tonsil, pain is gone. If you take it straight it seems to work much faster, just take one drop not dropperful at a time then increase as you feel you need to. When you feel it coming back just repeat as often as necessary, you will heal fast. I grew " Ring O' Fire " cayennes this year, and I have some that are dried already, but I still have some ripening on the plants yet too.... Or, should I use both the fresh & the dried peppers together in it? I've never made any of my own tinctures before, so I have no idea which way is peferable or more potent......or if either way it makes any difference? Guest guest
Fresh is always best, but don't let that stop you anything will work. The reason that I used Habenaro it is one of the hottest, hotter the more potent. Faster the better is what I like. (I have Habenaro plants too, but most of those peppers are still green yet....the cayenne's have ripened already) The cayenne I grew is hotter than most other cayenne's, hence the name Ring O' Fire... so hopefully they will still be pretty potent as a tincture... Maybe I'll try to make the Habenaro tincture too, once I get more of them to ripen to their full color. Thanks again Jan / Michigan
Guest guest
The other thing that amazes me is that you put the cayenne on a cut and it will speed the healing and no it does burn. My first claim to fame in the world of natural healing was the cayenne tincture I put it on the start of a cold sore on my lip and it was scabbed and heal the next morning and that is how my story started. I have been researching the different uses for cayenne, and there sure seems to be alot of them! As we do not take chemical pharmaceuticals, I am sure that the cayenne will be a valuable addition to our " medicine " cabinet. I also liked the fact that it was easy to grow, the plants were very productive, and now I can make my own tinctures from it too! I made my first batch yesterday, using your recipe. Also cayenne is a catalyst to any herb, you will see it added to many herb formulas on the market. It is a power tool that makes them stronger. Gina******Thanks for that info, Gina. Pat ********* As far as I know, the hot peppers reach their peak of " heat " when fully ripe, and are no longer green. There are also many different varieties of cayenne, and some are hotter than others. Growing conditions can also affect their heat, from season to season. I did have several " pepperheads " try my cayenne out for me (after they ripened to red). I was told mine were " extremely " hot, and none of those who tried them, will even attempt to take another bite of one raw. (I had one who claimed he thought they were gonna have to take a trip to the emergency room, after he took his bite of one) And this is from people who regularly eat the various hot peppers..... I would let yours ripen to red, and then try them out. Be careful when you do tho.... Jan / Michigan

Guest guest
OK I'm going to jump in here as a newbie. My herbal remedy is Native American. When the signs of a cold come on I take two 250 mg capsules twice daily of home ground osha root for three days. I have not had a cold in over 5 years and we have a 3 year old in school at home. Guest guest
The dosage is 1-2 dropperfuls 3-4 times per day. So for prevention I'd go with the lower dosage, and for active handling a cold or flu, I'd take the bigger dosage. love Lisa - b_raznoff Friday, October 21, 2005 3:09 PM herbal remedies , "Lisa de Haas" <lisa@l...> wrote:> > What you need is the Total Tonic and Echinacea tincture. see the files of our group's site for details on how to make.> In the total tonic formula what is the dosage?
