Guest guest
Holly I have tried some of their products but i had to cancel my membership due to th e large quanitly you had to buy every month. you have to use 35 points every month which can easily total up to $65-75 real quick. I liked the lotions and oils but especially liked the cleaning products. I love the laundry detergent... my last order i got 4 of the large ones. With 2 small kids around.i liked the natural products but was unable to keep up.. I did not need to buy that many points every month.. If you use vitamins it would prob be worth it... If you wanted to try a few prodcucts you could prob try ebay .. good luck robin"Holly" <peacefullone wrote: Has anybody had experience with the melaleuca herbal stuff? Guest guest
Q: Has anybody had experience with the melaleuca herbal stuff? I hope it's ok for me to ask? Holly A: Melaleuca is Tea Tree Oil. Instead of buying that pricey products, get some tea tree essential oil in a dropper bottle and put a few drops in your laundry, your lotion, whatever. Although I get mine from a supplier on line, I heard you can buy it at Walmart. This stuff is fantastic. You can use it neat on just about everything. Bruises disappear, paper cuts stop stinging almost immediately, etc. It has a distinct smell but you get used to it. Keep it in the fridge away from kids and pets. We love it. Guest guest
Don't get me wrong, I love tea tree oil. However, there is a company that is called Melaleuca which claims that it makes lots of " natural " stuff from melaleuca oil. They are MLM and a rip off. Guest guest
My mother was a Melaleuca faithful in the mid-90s. There was nothing they could't make. But not only are they an MLM and a rip-off, as someone correctly pointed out, but an examination of their ingredient lists on their products tells you they're not as " natural " as they claim to be. They use the same s**t additives as any other company out there that we try so hard to stay away from. I use the tea tree essential oil during my foot reflexology sessions (I live in TX where summers are long and warm, and you can only imagine what that does to feet!) It indeed disinfects AND covers any foot odors. Note for those who use lotions: ANY lotion is going to be concocted with potentially irritating chemicals that are less than good for you. As an eczema sufferer with EXTREMELY sensitive skin, I've found that the ONLY non-irritating substances are: purified water (not tap), PURE unscented unpreserved nut oils, shea butter, cocoa butter, Vitamin E, and beeswax (and other substances along those lines. Again, must be PURE and unaltered). Imported tiger balm is also usually OK. Just so you know. Read your labels! And for the love of Creation, stay away from mineral oil, petroleum products, etc. Blessings, --Jyoti/Jeni-Laura herbal remedies , robin morris <momtomash> wrote: > Actually they do not use points in using for price.. Guest guest
hi, i've been using the melaleuca products for about 3 months now and i love the products. i suppose that you can use tea tree essential oil, but i love everything from the soap to the toothpaste and mouthwash to the foot scrub to the cleaning and laundry products. it may seem expensive to use the products, but i have not been to the drugstore or discount store since i started shopping with melaleuca. onced i switched my house to melaleuca, i'm actually saving money because a lot of the cleaning and laundry products are concentrated. i've also started using weight management products and the nicole miller make-up and facial care products. melaleuca is sold in several countries so the point system is used to ensure that all things are equal. 35 points is 35 points whether you're in the us or australia. i love the products and the company. for Good Click here to donate to the Hurricane Katrina relief effort. Guest guest
Why else would 35 points consistently equal $65 to $75 dollars? Even the most natural lotions at least have synthetic preservatives, or they would be full of germs and dangerous to apply to your skin. A store proprietor wanted samples of my baby lotion, but I won't make it because IMO, no baby should be subjected to synthetics. Much better for the skin in general, and eczema, etc., in particular, are pure oils and fats, beeswax, and the like, as Jyoti stated. If anyone has trouble learning how to read the labels, there are some excellent " Ingredient Dictionaries " out there... I purchased one for Food Additives (8,000 ingredients) and one for Cosmetic Ingredients (6,000 ingredients) several years ago, and they have been invaluable to me, as far as learning what is what on all those labels..... (much less time consuming than having to look up each individual ingredient over the internet) FWIW Jan / Michigan

The citrus preservative used most often, grapefruit seed extract, has not been found to effectively preserve a water-based mixture, such as lotion. In fact, gse has preservatives added to preserve it, and that is what has been shown to do the preserving in other solutions! It's really only good to help retard oxidation. There is a new group of natural preservatives on the market, however, that shows promise, and I am looking into that, but itt really is a more difficult and complex topic than one might think.
