Speaking of Toxic waste, plagues and all that "non-fun" stuff...

 

I highly recommend two books written by one of my friends...

He was the reporter who brought "Love Canal" to national attention...Michael H. Brown.

 

If you want to find out just how bad your area may be (especially the air!)..

you should get a hold of

"Toxic Cloud" and "Laying Waste" (one was written in 1979 and the other in 1987 if I remember correctly).

 

They are both out of print at the moment but you can get used copies

on Amazon....and your local library will probably have copies.

 

I must say that Michael's books are an excellent follow up to Rachael Carson's "Silent Spring".

 

And as I tell my friends..."Yes, people DO PERISH from lack of knowledge...ignorance is NOT bliss!"
