Guest guest
hi, my father, who is 82, has congestive heart failure. he's currently taking lisinopil (blood pressure) and flurosimide (fluid pill). he also takes asparagus extract to flush his kidneys and geritol with iron. today, his doctor has prescribed mutriol(?) (to slow his heart rate), simvastatin (to lower cholesterol), and oxygen therapy (when moving around). my father was never interested in exercise or nutrition until now. he now realizes that things are serious and he's willing to make some changes. he's limiting red meat, eating more vegetables and fruits and he's doing chair exercises. has anyone had experience with hawthorn berries or other heart herbs? thanks for your help. gloria
Guest guest
Gloria, I have been using hawthorn berries for years. I use it for high blood pressure and angina. It has kept my blood pressure under control and has kept the artery around my heart from spasming. I have recommended it to several people. I usually take 6 tables a day. 3 in the morning and 3 at night. I also take vit e 1000 mg and CO Q-10 100 mg. I take one in am and one in pm. For me this really helps. I was having too may side affects from prescription meds and I don't have any side affects from the herbs.
