I can personally attest to the miracle Corn Silk Tea can produce.

In the mid 70's after the birth of my second child, I came down with

repeated kidney infections. I had dealt with kidney and bladder problems

since the age of 11 so I was on my last leg, so to speak.

After every antibiotic failed to heal me and two years of continuous

Sulphur prescrips on a daily basis, my kidney's were shutting down and

dialysis was being mentioned by my doctor.

I had read of the good results corn silk tea had produced in some others

and decided to give it a try. Since it was late summer at this time I

was able to get plenty of fresh corn and saved all the corn silk after

shucking it. I drank a tea cup full three times a day and it completely

cleared up my kidney problems. Since that day I always keep corn silk in

my freezer for the slightest twinge, but have only had to use it twice

since the 70's.

If fresh corn is not available, you can purchase corn silk from

companies that sell herbs in bulk. It is not expensive and good to have

around for those prone to kidney problems.

Rescue Remedy: I have used this for the past thirty years. It works

wonders. An example is when my dh, ds-11 (at the time) and I were moving

away from the only home our son had ever known. Homesick would be

putting it mildly! He was so depressed and upset he could not even

sleep at night. I had run out of Rescue Remedy some time back and had

never remembered to get a new bottle so I made an effort to buy a bottle

soon after. Two drops under the tongue for two nights in a row and he

was fine. No more meloncoly or anxiety and he became his usual, happy

self. This was seven years ago and I have never run out of Rescue

Remedy since.

I recommend reading up on the Bach Flower Remedies. One book I highly

suggest is Handbook of the Bach Flower Remedies by Philip M. Chancellor.

You can find it on Amazon.com new or by " used book sellers " at great

prices. debora

I looked up the book you mentioned on Amazon and there doesn't seem to

be anybody by the name of Philip M Chancellor. I suppose other

authors have something to offer just as good.

I like the idea of reserving silk from corn and freezing it.

Dear Debora,

Thanks for the input. Yes, the cornsilk can work wonders.

As far as the Bach Flower Remedies are concerned, I know they have worked for many, but I've never had them work with me or any in my family. I took a course on this with my alma mater, Trinity College and the Certified Natural Health Care Professionals Organization, and even made my own - fresh from the vial = still no joy.

Not that I'm trying to downplay this as I've heard too many reports from those who they have worked with. I've also tried using these including the Rescue Remedy on a few of my own clients (when I was practicing) and with some there were some results but for most there wasn't. On the other hand, I've never failed with the gross herbal approach = lots of a particular herb on either myself or a client.

And I haven't had a cold or a flu in over 12 years. I just don't get sick.

Anywho, as much as the Bach remedies have been pushed, I'd like to keep putting in a stonger word for hard core herbals.

Just more effective in my books. (my two cents;)

Love,

Doc
