Guest guest
Echinacea and golden seal are excellent for the infection that causes earaches. Take 1 dropperful of the tincture (some call it extract) 3-4 x a day. You can also mash garlic cloves and put them into oil and let steep for a day and night and use the drops in the outer ear to heal and also to ease the pain. Keep refrigerated and stand in a bowl of warm water to warm before using. Put a clean cottonball into the ear to keep the oil from draining out. I use castor oil but I don't think it matters what kind you use. If you hold the head back as far as you can and then drop the tincture into the mouth and let it drip down the throat, you will be getting it where it belongs easier. The inner ear and throat are connected. Blow the nose without closing off one side to keep mucous from being forced into the inner ear. Wear a knit hat to keep the head and ears warm, especially at night. Peace, Thyme PS Gargling with a warm cider vinegar and salt solution several times a day also hastens recovery. 2 tbsp. salt and 8 tbsp. vinegar to about a quart.
