Guest guest
I've been seeing an acupuncturist for damp heat with spleen deficiency. My main symptoms are a white-yellow tongue coating and a foggy head that never clears. She " sticks " me, then cups my back (12-14 points), which instantly clears my head. I drink herbs daily until the next appointment. Without them, my head fogs over. I don't eat/drink dairy, coffee, or sugar, but my head gradually fogs over without the herbs and don't know why my body isn't clearing itself. Why is that? I thought herbs helped your body heal. I've been seeing her for 3 months (1x to 2x/wk), and she gave me a discount on the visits, but the insurance doesn't cover acupuncture, and I want to be cured. I'm not sure what cupping does, and don't know what else to do. She's a nice lady, and I appreciate the discount, but she's 90 mins away and not covered by insurance. I just want my head to be clear permanently and it never does. Any explanations or suggestions as to what to do? Many thanks. Glenn
Guest guest
This is just my opinion, so take it for whatever it's worth. I think a lot of alternative doctors, acupuncturists included, want their patients to be dependent on them forever. I mean without patients, they don't make any money. Every person I have ever known who goes to a chiropractor has never been told by the chiropractor that they are healed and there is no further need for them to continuing coming to them. They want your money, plain and simple, and they can't get your money if there's nothing wrong with you. The alternative doctor near us charges an absolute fortune and you have to go to him continuously for vitamin c treatments or whatever. And insurance doesn't pay for any of it, as you well know. Have you done a complete body cleanse? It sounds like you might have some "clogs" somewhere. I'm just a beginning herbalist, but I did suffer from some kind of brain fogginess, so I can relate. I've been doing constant cleanses and I have really noticed a difference. I also eat very clean and vegan, mostly raw and organic. I hope you find the right solution to your health problems. Guest guest
Glenn have you check out Candida, your symtoms sure sound like it. Go on the web and type in Candida quiz you will get a web site and answer the question and see if it pertains to you. Gina I've been seeing an acupuncturist for damp heat with spleen deficiency. Guest guest
This may not apply, however you did not address this issue and I have to ask. I do agree it may be candida, but are you currently taking any meds of any kind. Up till about 8 months ago I was taking several and through this site came off of them. I got my life back together and now I'm in my third month of school starting to rebuild after 13 years of drug therapy. If you take any kind of meds that may be your problem. ever OTC meds can cause problems. If you take something for sleep at nigth even melotonaian that could be a problem, the lingering effects may not have worn off. Anything for sleep even herbs can take time to drain out of your system the next day. If this is a case of taking something for sleep, even herbs, try drinking a tea instead caff free of course. Don't eat red meat after 5pm or drink any caff after 5pm or choco after 5pm. something else that may cause it is watching tv late at night. your brain has to have time to relax and shut down before you lie down for rest. if you are watching something like the news which is graphic intense or some action flick then you are all pumped up before bed and your mind never has the chance to shut down before you try to goto sleep and you never really get into REM stage 4 sleep thus you wake up groggy and foggy the next day. then you mentioned that you drink lots of herbs. this could be helping but also may be the cause. If you mix certian herbs together or take ones not really ment for women then it could throw everything off tilt. Herbs are very powerful and mixing them with ones you are not suppose to may feel good for the moment but could cost you later in the end. also there are some used for men and some used for women that should not really be crossed over. But I would take the advice to look into candida first, goto a practioner and do a candida cleanse or do anought research to do one on your own. also a TBC may be in order. Guest guest
Dear Glenn, I have done a lot of accupuncture and I've personally found that you have to also make sure you go to a chiropractor and get your spine adjusted so that the nerve flows work properly. The guy I go to is a miracle... he is an upper cervical chiropractor, he uses the Palmer method... And also diet and exercise are very important. There is not going to be one thing, physically speaking, that's going to handle everything. I have only seen true relief using a combination of all these things. I can personally recommend doing Doc Shillington's Total Body Cleanse. After the section of it that deals with the liver and gallbladder, my head was clearer than it's ever been. And I realized, now that I had this "clarity" how worried and anxious I'd been all the time. Well, it's no wonder... I had gallstones! When you clean out your liver and gallbladder and kidneys, you will experience a lightness and freedom from anxiety like no other. I hope this helps! Guest guest
Thanks for replying, Cheryl, Yes, I've noticed that alternative dr's rely on repeat visits. Some have MD degrees but are quacks or unprofessional in a myriad of ways, too. I did some body cleanses w/CleanseMax and Fungal Defense, etc. The Cleanse Max helped a bit, but it was a pain and I had to consume an enormous amount of water. I drive 90 mins to and from work daily, and had to keep a can handy! It cut the brain fog by 1% or so -- I could feel my head getting clear, but it fogged over again. The cupping helps tremendously, but the herbs do, too. With just the cupping I can feel the fogginess creeping in after a few days, but the herbs stablize that and slow it a little. I never dreamed this could ever happen as it really is awful. I stopped all dairy for nearly a year, but the fogginess never went away, and milk products did increase it. An MD dismissed all of this, saying fogginess was " subjective, " and said instead I was depressed. No one seemed to " get " that fogginess leads to depression as I could do nothing about it! I did the " candida diet " (veggies and meat and eggs only for 6 wks, plus some millet later); no help. The " natural " dr who said I had candida -- he hosts a health program on the radio in NJ -- said I obviously had a yeast infection. The symptoms didn't respond to the medication, and he said to keep taking it (it hurts your liver). I eventually nixed him. Overall, this entire thing has been aggravating, and the acupuncturist does help. Personally, Qi Gong seems like the best free answer, but I'm looking for an apartment in NJ (expensive; traffic!) and just started a new job (lots of hours!), and when I get home I'm tired and sleep. Thanks again for writing, and I'll let you and the group know how I progress and when! Glenn Allen Easton, Pa. It sounds like you might have some " clogs " somewhere. Guest guest
Hi Glenn, I'm going to put one more suggestion out there, only because it worked for me. Have you checked your house for black mold? When I did some research I found that one of the symptoms of mold is brain fogginess. I made my husband pull up the carpet in our master bathroom and the floor was just covered with black mold. I sleep just a few feet from the master bathroom, so I was inhaling these mold spores on a nightly basis. Once the bathroom was was stripped, my brain fogginess eventually went away. So in my case the brain fogginess was actually caused by an outside force. I then did some intense internal cleanses to remove whatever might be lingering inside of me. I truly hope you can get to the root cause of your brain fog. It's a terrible way to live and scary not knowing where it came from and what you can do to get rid of it. I got lucky, I guess. I figured it out and was able to cure myself. Many blessings to you. Cherylapchat2000 <lionhearted38 wrote: Thanks for replying, Cheryl,Yes, I've noticed that alternative dr's rely on repeat visits. Guest guest
Dear Glen, Sounds kinda negative. When I was practicing, I made it a point to educate my patients so that they didn't have to come back for repeat visits, so I don't know what kind of alternative dudes you were dealing with, but sounds to me as if you got in with a bad batch. Have you listened to my free cassette lecture yet??? There's data in there free for the having. And this is data you can apply yourself without having to rely on anyone else. Check it out.
