Guest guest
Six Flavor Tea = Liu Wei Di Huang = Rehamania 6 Classical Chinese herbal formula from " Craft of Medicinal Treatment for Childhood Disease Patterns " Used to treat YIN Deficiency of the Kidneys. (TCM) Every acupuncturist and Chinese herbalist will know this formula. There are hundreds of variations (additions and substitutions) for a wide range of disorders. For example for " Wasting and thirsting disorders " which is associated with the western diagnosis of diabetes it is a standard prescribed formula. Widely available off the shelf from $1.00 a bottle Chinese honey tea-pills to pricey new-age packaging $30 and up. Newly introduced in liquid gel capsules manufactured to GMP highest quality standards. For Wasting and thirsting disorders a typical modification is omitting the Rhizoma Alismatis (Ze Xie) and substituting Tian Hua Fen in a larger doses (30 grams) Caution is advised with a white greasy tongue; indigestion, diarrhea (Spleen Deficiency) I would note that since this formula is widely known and used extensively to treat " Wasting and thirsting disorders " it is not a cure for diabetes - where the disease has long been established. TCM's hallmark is more to prevention of diseases than to cure. TCM philosophy is akin to digging a well before one is thirsty. The notable success of this particular formula can be taken form the title of the book in which the formula was first described and the condition/symptoms prescribed for its use. Most (American) children exhibit YIN Deficient signs and symptoms and a course of TCM herbals may well lead to prevention of " Wasting and thirsting disorders " . Diabetes appears to be on a rapid rise in all categories - and more so in late-stage adult onset diabetes. Yin Deficiency is a pattern commonly seen in older populations and here- again- a course of TCM herbals may well lead to prevention of " Wasting and thirsting disorders " in those groups as well. For a overview of TCM and Diabetes see http://www.acupuncture.com/herbs/diabetesherb.htm Although you may not recognize [six Flavor Tea = Liu Wei Di Huang = Rehamania 6] its variations are included within the modern adoption of treatment and is the foundation of treatment for treatment. as a footnote to Kelli's post here are the amounts Cooked Radix Rehmanniae (Shu Di Huang) 240 grams Fructus Corni Officinalis (Shan Zhu Yu), 120 g Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae (Shan Yao), 120 g Rhizoma Alismatis (Ze Xie) 90 g Sclerotium Poriae Cocos (Fu Ling) 90 g Cortex Radicis Moutan (Dan Pi). 90 g original preparation: grind ingredients into powder and form into pills with honey [raw honey] take in 9 gram doses 3x a day. When prepared as a decoction 1/10 of the specified dosage is used. When prepared as a decoction honey is typically omitted. NOTE for herbalist: of the six herbs listed above combine to form a formula specific to treat YIN deficient yet not one herb is from the category of herbs that specifically treat the YIN. Here the whole is greater than the sum... Ed Kasper LAc. The only website with those exact words was a discussion list, mostly of people who had read Kevin's book who wanted to know who this doctor was and where they could reach him for help with diabetes. One woman wrote in to say that this doctor's name had been misspelled in Kevin's book. His name, she says, is really Dr. Youngsoo Kim. He can be found at www.thetruthaboutdiabetes.info <http://www.thetruthaboutdiabetes.info/> . He sells and also gives information on making " Six Flavor Tea " . The ingredients for this, as listed on his website, are: Cooked Radix Rehmanniae (Shu Di) Fructus Corni Officinalis (Shan Zhu Yu), Radix Dioscoreae Oppositae (Shan Yao), Rhizoma Alismatis (Ze Xie) Sclerotium Poriae Cocos (Fu Ling) Cortex Radicis Moutan (Dan Pi). The basic instructions given are to powder the herbs and then cook a heaping tablespoon of the mixture in 2.5 cups of water for 1-2 hours over low heat and then drink the remaining tea three times a day on an empty stomach. It is stated that the leftover sediment can be save and reused 2 -3 times. It is also stated that an alternative way of preparing the tea is in the microwave (what?????), in a thermos, or directly eating the herbs. I don't know enough about these herbs to know how they would be beneficial, but I did want to pass along the information I was able to find. Have a Joyous Day! Guest guest
Wellllllllllll, I appreciate the feedback on this. It's kinda sad when a natural healer goes over to the "Dark Side", and starts getting money hungry rather than staying "Help" motivated. Don't get me wrong. I've got nothing against anyone making a decent living using one's talents. If one is going to supply a service, they should be paid for it. However, a good way to turn a person criminal (including children) is to keep on giving them something for nothing and allowing them to go out exchange. I do a lot of work that is gratis (including this list but when working one on one, I always charge for the service, even if my fee is for some kind of trade or exchange. We have become a welfare nation, and too often people have been trained to look for the handout rather than taking responsibility for their condition. On the other hand, the pendulum can swing to the other side and you have a lot of con men out there who are doing nothing more than selling a bill of goods. The psychiatrist undeniably falls into this category. So do most medical doctors who are trying to handle illnesses of a chronic nature with drugs. The pharmaceutical companies are the greatest drug pushers in the world today. A good way to hook people is to give them a mystery or intimate there is a BIG secret that they need to know. In marketing, this is known as a mystery sandwich. ;-) Welllllll, it seems as if Mr. Trudeau's book is exactly that. There are others like Dr. Richard Schulze who though they have not gone over to the "Dark Side" have gone off the deep end. When Schulzie started promoting promiscuity and free love and open marriages, and furthermore then blamed the entirety of 911 on ALL Organized Religions, I knew he'd gone off the deep end and lost it. As I said, it's sad when you see Natural Healing take a blow like this, when a supposed opinion leader shows that he truly doesn't have what it takes to stay the course. Dr. Thompson, Dr. Hoxey, Dr. John Christopher and Dr. Bernard Jensen on the other hand, never let their ethics or intergrity slide. These men were true blue to the end, and are still some of the best sources of natural healing information that I know of. Again, thanks for the input on Trudeau. A total rip-off imo. My friend purchased the book also because she has diabetes & she was madderthan a wet hen, I can tell you! He rants & raves about "them"; doing exactly what he accuses big gov/drug industry/dcotors of doing...promises, promises, promises! He points a lot of fingers, so guess this is what the woman was refering to...facts she was unaware of...I didn't find anything thatI haven't seen on this board or other reputable/honest health sites. So, if it helps anyone to "wake up", I agree it did have SOME use...BUT, that is NOT how this book was hyped.BUT!!!!!! IF you PAY to join his website & PAY for his newsletter, well then, you get let in on all these secrets! He touted his all natural regimen [no supplements] of super green foods, algaes, sprouts...but it's NOT in the book. HE cannot tell anyone! However,he does give names & email addy's of his 3 docs who can tell you, so I emailed one of them & asked what this regimen was & where it was available.I got back a LOOOOOOOOONG email with mind numbing hype for everything "this" guy was into [must be getting ready to write & push his own book] and a small note at the end saying he didn't believe in taking ANY natural food powders etc. and to ask another one of Trudeau's expert "docs"! THIS from a man that Kevin himself said was "legally able" to give the information & agreed with him & his book!I now see a NEW infomercial from Kevin...his NEW book has ALL the SECRETS he couldn't tell before! Guess "Big Gov" finally untied his hands...yeah, like I believe that! IF this is truly the case & IF he really has this "amazing secret to cure all diseases", he ought tosend it FREE to all the buyers of the original book in which he CLAIMED these secrets were! Believe me, I'm not holding my breath til my copy comes!herbal remedies , "Dr. Ian Shillington" <DocShillington@K...> wrote:> Yes, sometimes a person's contribution to the world around them is simply to get others to think and be aware of existing situations. Guest guest
Thanks for your input Krys. I've come to the conclusion that he's just another con man out to make a quick buck. I am forbidden by the Federal Trade Commission to mention the product by brand name; however, the person I interviewed who told me about this was Dr. Yung Su Kim, a Korean living in Canada."
