Guest guest
Greetings! :-) I have an OPTIMA nebulizer for oils - large size, no timer. I've had it for quite a while but haven't gotten much use from it. Although the pump is large, oil tends to diffuse slowly and gets sticky at the bottom of the glass so it tends to clog. (I don't use thick oils either) I found it very difficult to clean because the silicone tubing was so tight on the machine I had to wrestle it off and then really struggle to get it reattached. I couldn't even get it to disconnect at the glass nebulizer end. I find myself avoiding using it at all. It sat unused for a long while and then, one day, at the pet store, I saw some silicone tubing that was softer, thinner walled but same size interior diameter (for fish tank air pump). The only way to get the old tubing off of the glass part of the nebulizer was to cut it with an exacto knife. HOW did they get it on in the first place? The new tubing is also tight but is more manageable. It's really difficult to slip onto the delicate stemlike base of the glass but fairly easy to attach to the pump. Eventually, I succeed and get it put together. Soon though, the tubing keeps splitting at the glass end. It works for a day or 2 and then tears and disconnects all by itself. Sometimes the remaining oil drips out the bottom. Grrrrr. I cut a new piece and try again...and again... So, is this a lost cause or has someone out there solved this problem already? I need a source for new tubing and would like to know - Does the tubing normally attach directly to the pump and to the glass or might I be missing little connector type pieces? Any ideas? Thanks, Gail Rice
