I'm sorry I haven't been able to respond to your email until now. Yesterday, I realized that you had written me a personal email. Your question involved something about if Jesus ever killed anyone. I would have loved to be a fly on the wall when that conversation began. Of course, no such Scripture exists. Jesus taught " turning the other cheek " when it comes to personal offenses. The context of such passages (read the Sermon on the Mount, Matthew 5 -- 7) involve selfless sacrifice for Christ's cause. The issue at stake is being harmed personally for the cause of Christ. The enemies of Christ will be the enemies of Christ's followers. Christ's followers are people of love, therefore, they respond to their attackers knowing that they are suffering for Christ's cause. However, some people suffer because of their own stupidity. Some Christians are being " attacked " by people not because they exude the Spirit of Christ, but because they are simply being rude, overbearing, and obnoxious. That's sad. Sad to say, I've been there, done that. But, as for a broader, biblical topic, maybe the conversation you were involved in was about the Christian doctrine of a just war? Is that possible? Is the person you were referring to talking about what would Jesus do in causing a country to go to war with another country? Anyway, there is some Scriptural evidence, both in Old Testament and New Testament that point out the doctrine of a Just War. God's blessings be with you. I'll try to check my email a little more carefully. In Christ, Joe
