OT: stay safe continuation

I'd like to add my two cents here. My husband drives a truck and I always send

him off with " be safe " . I'd much rather he come home safely, than " have a nice

day " . I also end my conversations on the phone with " Love you " , as you never

know when that conversation (God forbid) might be the last one. With all the

harm in the world, 'Be safe " wishes are very caring thoughts.

I am married to an Irishman. Gaeltalk has some amazing phrases as all

emotions are on you.

example Ta bron orm, The sorrow is on me.

 

Dia dhut is the American equal to a hello greeting but better translates

God to you.

 

When folks leave us we always ask that they are " Safe home " . A dear old

Irish woman

from Wexford told me she speaks the words " Safe home " from her lips to

God's ears,

Not as a request but as a statement that she expects no less. I must say I

believed her!

May we all be safe home in these uncertain times.
