Infusing wax??

I'm sitting here wondering about wax and candles and scents.... So

now I have some questions for those of you who makes all natural

candles:

- Which wax - soy or beeswax carries the scent the best when burned?

- Infusing the melted wax with myhhr & frankincense tears, fresh

citrus peels, whole spices, vanilla pods, sandalwood chips etc. for

some hours on low heat, will that give any frangrance at all? If so -

which wax would incorporate the scent the most?

I know that the work and time spending doing this, makes such candles

rather expensive to sell, but it would be neat to give them away as

gifts. Or maybe, if I get to make that votive candle mold (thanks

Janet for putting me in the do-it-yourself direction) at least the

small ones could be sold...

While I'm musing over this I just have to tell you that I was in the

city yesterday and went into a very nice tea and spice kind of shop

and bought some different type of dried chilis, the smallest jar of

rose marmelade (but that one I could probably do myself much better)

and some dark molass sugar. BUT - just outsid ethe shop they had

some " aromatherapy " candles with EOs the sign said - hahaha, have you

ever heard of any apple and strawberry EO?? And they sold the

smallest of bags with footsalt - just fineground seasalt some dried

lavender and rose buds. Estimated there was like 3oz in the bags and

they sold it for like 4,4USD each!!

Now I go and melt some wax and make a molded candle and some potpueri

for my friend Lisa. The kids left with my inlaws some 30 min. ago and

they are going to spend the weekend with them. Peace and quiet -

yaoooo!

Fragrant Blessings,

Ylva
