Wonder if anyone could critique the inhalers at

www.inhalationproducts.com? They suggest to replace them after 30

days which seems a way too short of a time to me (another marketing

ploy, perhaps). I have made inhalers in salt which seem to last a

long time. One product is a " powerful mixture " of tea tree and

eucalyptus for travel. How many drops would make a powerful mixture?

I figure that I can make my own for a lot cheaper but am curious

about the medium that they use to hold the oils.

Michael,

I have made these inhalets myself and they do

last up to 6 months. All there is inside is a

filter like piece of cotton (like the cotton that

is on the end of a cigarette). Just soak the

cotton in a few drops is all that is needed.

I made up a sinus one for myself that has

3 drops Eucalyptus globus

2 drops Pine (Pinus kessia)

1 drop Tea Tree

I am still using it about 6 months later.

I like the sea salt ones better, personally.

Thanks...sounds like I can make my own pretty easily. Regarding the

different types of eucalyptus, I have a blue eucalyptus (eucalyptus

polybrachtea (sp?) which may be one of the milder ones, possibly more

for diffusing. I will have to review the different eucalyptus's.

Globus, I believe, is the most common one used for disinfecting and

sinus purposes. Also how about cedarwood or myrtle for this type of

sinus inhalant? You must get plenty of natural pine scent in Alaska.

Well I have never tried the cedarwood or myrtle.

hmmmm When I go to the shop I can check that out

but really anything that will work on the sinus'

will work in the inhalers. You just need to

becareful because some of them might not be good

around the muscous membranes (only in a oil for a

massage along sinus passages).

Small amounts in each are all that are needed to

last awhile (for myself that is). The ones I

sell, I also make as though I am going to use

them unless they are for children then I use the

more mild eo's.

I was at a site that had 10/10ml. bottles for 7.50. I can't remember the site

now!

Does anyone have a good reference for where to buy these and/or 5ml bottles?

Hey Janet,

Yes, I do them in 5 and 10 ml size as well as the

1/2 dram size. The 1/2 dram sizes I sell in sets

line 1 each for sinus, headaches, jet lag, colds,

panic attacks, etc. The 5 and 10 ml sizes are

individual items.

you can buy the plastic inhaler 'kits' in bulk from hubmar in Canada...but

there's a big minimum.

otherwise... I like a coarse salt..but I don't honestly think it matters.

another option, is to stuff the jar with cotton... and saturate that...

not sure if it makes a difference which method you use!
