Guest guest
Hey Janet, what about making a well near/next too the wick and putting the eo in there? like a wax bottom, then the small long well, then wax on the top after the eo's been poured? Guest guest
I have never done it but a friend tried something like this with juniper berry eo and it flamed like a torch. Folks need to experiment, what works for me may not work for you. I know some folks soak the wicks in scent before they wax prime them. Today I stopped at a small shop and looked at the candles that were in there. I know lots of folks do gel candles, but gel with eo's would scare me to death. This gal who was very nice, had embedded some berry and leaf looking stuff in a small pillar candle. It had been burning a while judging for the melt pool. And the embeds turned out to be plastic. Nice gal but .... she was talking on the phone and when I turned for looking at some artsy tea lite chandeliers, the embeds in this pillar candle had caught fire and were flaming up. Flaming way up. After that was handled this gal says to me, you know I probably should have tested that before I shipped 30 of them out. Dah do ya think?! I know you are tired of hearing me say test, test, test. But do something one time, keep notes, if it appears to work can you duplicate the result next week or next month? The other thing I would caution folks about this time of year is container candles. Just cause some one tells you a type glass or container would be great to pour a candle into, does not make it so. I see very thin glass being used for sale in holiday seasons. Tins get hot, some glass breaks, some votive holders are junk, none of it is worth having a house fire over. Or what would be worse to me is giving a gift that caused a house fire. Oh and be prepared some day I will be asking lotion questions, looks a tad bit intimidating to me! ok I am back the wax lab~ Hugs~ >Hey Janet, what about making a well near/next too the wick and putting the >eo in there? like a wax bottom, then the small long well, then wax on the >top after the eo's been poured? > >Warm regards, >Janine Phariss >www.BlueSageNaturals.com >Unique & Innovative Herbals > > > >
