Guest guest
I like Petitgrain for that sort of thing. I also have a co-distillation of petitgrain and orange blossoms that is nice. And a sweet lavender always brings me up. I know it's supposed to be a relaxing oil, but it makes me " happy " , not necessarily sleepy, or anything like that. Oh, and steam-distilled lime, but it might be too sweet for some. Christy > >I am looking for a neroli substitute for someone who loves the pure >neroli but can't afford it. Good show podner .. you have been a great customer and I appreciate it. I was pulling your leg a bit about the comparison between me and Dumb Living. ;-p > I am looking for a neroli substitute for someone who loves the pure > neroli but can't afford it. Do you recommend the bergamot, red > mandarin or another orange (or citrus) to get a similar uplifting, > anti-depressant effect? I'll pass sorta .. though there are some unscrupulous cats around who pass off what I like to call Near-Neroli .. its stems, leaves and the blossoms .. but they don't advertise it as such. A good substitute (to me) for the reasons you want to use it would be a good French or Bulgarian Lavandula angustifolia and/or a Rose Otto (Rosa damascena). IF you like citrus .. then they will accomplish the job you want accomplished .. and there are many who swear by Red Mandarin. > Michael Y'all keep smiling. :-) Butch http://www.AV-AT.com PS: Keep in mind that even ONE GRAM of Rose Otto or Neroli will last a long, long, long, long time.
