Guest guest
Hey Sandy, This is an old one .. from 20 July. But I don't see where it was replied to. ;-p > Hello, I have been lurking for a couple of weeks, just reading. Contrary to the NAFTA Agreement (methinks) your Big Brother is charging you folks some duties on EO brought in from the USA .. SOMETIMES. Not all the time. If the oils come in by US Postal Service they almost always bypass Big Brother .. if they come in by Express (UPS, FedEx, and such) they almost always go to Big Brother first. But as for shipping costs and duties .. unless the oil was produced in Canada in the first place the seller in Canada will have paid these costs when they brought the oil in to begin with .. and since there are no Mother Theresa types in the EO sales business you can count on those costs being passed right along even though they are mixed with the cost of the oils. As for brokerage fees .. I often ship 100 or so kilos of an oil to buyers in Canada .. just sent 250 kilos of Oregano to a feller in Western Canada last month. He paid a broker because it was an import with lots of documentation, etc., but end-users don't need a broker and I've never heard of any of them using one. I have many, many, many customers in Canada .. and in 58 other countries outside the USA .. and none of them have ever had a need for a broker. You just order, the seller ships and it either goes through or bypasses your Big Brother rip off agency. > (I had at one time ordered 2 - 8 oz bottles of oil that was > originally $10 US and by the time I paid the other costs I had spent > more that $60 CDN) Sorta unheard of this .. except .. maybe .. the Canadian Big Brother didn't buy the invoice price of $10 for 2 each 8 oz bottles of EO. If they think you are trying to pull their leg they might pull back a lot harder. There are many Canadians on this and other lists who routinely purchase oils from the USA. Maybe those on this list will come forward .. and you can ask others .. maybe on some of the Canadian lists .. what their particular experiences are. One thing is for sure .. whatever duties they are paying even when the purchases do go through your Big Brother are not such that it precludes them from reordering .. I have some Canadian customers who have been sending orders monthly for many years. > Thanks > Sandy Welcome fer'shur.
