Guest guest
I know that some think that there are som EOs that are safe to use on dogs. BUT I know that I have read it somewhere (in Swedish newspapers?) that the most commonly used teatree eo - IS harmful, well even poisinous (sp??) for furry babies due to their skin is much thinner than that on human beings. On many lists (and on some peoples websites) there are products for dogs (and cats) using EO:s - but is it realy safe?? I would like to know what you think about this and if there are something more scientific written about this topic. Wouldn't for the life of me put something harmful on my darling RR Fiona. Talking about her, it's time for our morning walk :-D Fragrant Blessings, Ylva
Guest guest
Hello Ylva, I am not a expert at all, Butch posted a link to the doggy expert:) I have toy poodles, When my girl gets pregnant she develops a nervous licking habit, just one spot on her paw, there is nothing there but she licks herself almost raw- I do not use chemicals on my dogs and I am especially cautious when they are pregnant. I had tried to just bandage it so she couldn't get to the spot but she gets it off , so I put tea tree 1 drop in 4 ounces of vitamin E and the sore spot was gone in 2 days, I did bandage it so she couldn't lick it but she wanted nothing to do with it. NORMALLY I would use flower essences but they weren't working & I needed that sore spot healed before she gave birth, as 3 ounce pups crawling all over her with anything on her made me nervous, so it worked -FOR ME! I also diffuse lavender lightly ,in the whelping area, & use tea tree in a hose sprayer to disinfect the area where the dogs go outside, they are not allowed out there until it is completely dry, Again, this works for ME.
